Amongst other things, Dolin was a principal with the Vic-Wells... For information, Dolin wasn't knighted until 1981. -

Sergei Polunin - news
bangorballetboy replied to bangorballetboy's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
He has to say something controversial (otherwise how can he maintain his ludicrous "bad boy" image) and he has to denigrate the RB as that builds his story. Someone should tell him that dancers (and singers) come and go but companies continue. -

I was very interested to see the couple of clips of Façade in the first one. Does this mean the beeb have a complete recording? If so, I hope they show it sometime. I had planned to stop watching the second programme once they'd done Nijinska but I got reeled in. Reinforced many of the reasons I don't care so strongly about contemporary dance (similar to contemporary art, I suppose - if someone needs to tell me why it's art, it's not art).- 215 replies

Nothing against the dancers, who performed exquisitely, but it's hard to disagree with Jennings. Untouchable was a waste of the RB talent, as it was just another HS piece rather than a real collaboration (though the Nigel Farage moments were appreciated); the only good thing about the Raven Girl revival was Stix-Brunell's reinvention of the title character; and Carmen was a vanity project that fell flat through interminable use of cliché and a woeful score. There's still time for O'Hare to react, mind.
