  1. Thanks Bluebird. ENB tweeted earlier that Cojocaru is replaced by Rojo on 13 & 16 Jan and by Summerscales on 19 Jan.
  2. I remember the "shaking your knickers off" comment but my memory is saying it was Lesley Collier!
  3. Amongst other things, Dolin was a principal with the Vic-Wells... For information, Dolin wasn't knighted until 1981.
  4. Please do not stoke any fires. If you think a post is unacceptable, please report it.
  5. This is the third and final time I'm am saying this. We do not know the facts of why the report says what it does. As some people seem incapable of understanding this, I am locking this thread.
  6. He has to say something controversial (otherwise how can he maintain his ludicrous "bad boy" image) and he has to denigrate the RB as that builds his story. Someone should tell him that dancers (and singers) come and go but companies continue.
  7. I'll remind everyone that we do not have specific details. I'm very uncomfortable about some of the speculation on this thread as to what may or may not be happening at RBS. We all agree that these matters are important, that's why there's a body that deals with checking these things.
  8. I note that the article says the following: "An earlier Ofsted inspection found pupil safeguarding was ‘not effective’ and the system for vetting staff was ‘liable to error’." That's all the details there are so let's avoid supposition please.
  9. I'll add myself to the list of those who think Chroma and Infra have staying power (and justifiably so).
  10. As well as being a woman, Miskimmon is a very fine opera director (and seeing her on stage is one of my earliest memories!).
  11. Minnesota have a ballet to this (called Pastoral). I know little about it though, I'm afraid.
  12. The cast change slip said "Due to injury", it didn't say whose injury (i.e. it might have been Bonelli replacing Golding due on injury that meant Bonelli didn't dance on Saturday).
  13. Looked like Beriosova (but before my time!). Cast should be on the ROH performance database.
  14. I was very interested to see the couple of clips of Façade in the first one. Does this mean the beeb have a complete recording? If so, I hope they show it sometime. I had planned to stop watching the second programme once they'd done Nijinska but I got reeled in. Reinforced many of the reasons I don't care so strongly about contemporary dance (similar to contemporary art, I suppose - if someone needs to tell me why it's art, it's not art).
  15. Nothing against the dancers, who performed exquisitely, but it's hard to disagree with Jennings. Untouchable was a waste of the RB talent, as it was just another HS piece rather than a real collaboration (though the Nigel Farage moments were appreciated); the only good thing about the Raven Girl revival was Stix-Brunell's reinvention of the title character; and Carmen was a vanity project that fell flat through interminable use of cliché and a woeful score. There's still time for O'Hare to react, mind.
  16. 5 bouquets, extra solo curtain call, last one off from "lead 5" curtain call and a final curtain call with (a tearful) Morera.
  17. I don't like the recent change that has Clara and H-P sitting on the floor by the proscenium arch to watch the gpd2, instead of sitting on a wide couch in a side niche. Would anyone of decency really suggest that their guests of honour sat on the floor?
