  1. Update: I saw that the video is up and hope to get a chance to appreciate it later today. Anyone else who missed yesterday, please go enjoy!
  2. Ah, thank you! I hope when it does pop up it stays for at least a couple of days in case life gets busy and this slips my mind for a bit.
  3. Thank you for letting me know. I hope it does stream at some point, and I'm lucky enough to catch. I'd love to see Viola dancing Dame Monica Mason's choreography!
  4. I hope you were able to enjoy it earlier in the day (or yesterday)? Or did it never actually stream? I'm quite confused, as you can see. What was the case last year, if I may ask--was the stream only visible while 'live', with no video on demand?
  5. Hi and thank you for the link. Is it a one time thing that I already missed? For me it says stream has not started yet.
  6. Thank you very much, Stevie, for your careful research! I'm very grateful for your kindness.
  7. This is amazing. Would you be so kind as to share a link? For some reason I was unable to find it via google. I would like to check to see if this is available to buyers outside U.K. (even without free shipping etc). Thank you.
  8. I don't know how long it'll be up but Teatro Massimo di Palermo production of Le Corsaire with Maia Makhateli and Jakob Feyferlik is on their youtube channel.
  9. I'm hopeful that means one of the Japanese broadcasting channels has bought rights and you will get to see it there instead? Maybe the channel that showed Alina Cojocaru dancing Giselle the Act 2 Pas de deux with Manuel Legris –the channel whose logo I see in the corner when I watch youtube videos? I’m still envious of fans who got to see that on TV broadcast! I bought the marque stream and was grateful to finally understand more about what was discussed here. All the performances were worth seeing. My favorites were Hayward/Bracewell, Cojocaru/Trusch, Naghdi/Corrales, and Makhateli/Ivenko. Praetorius/Frola too, of course! They even motivated me to dig out and re-watch Rose Gad and Alexander Kolpin dancing the same piece from one of my Nina Ananiashvili and Friends DVDs. I liked that performance, but every time I move house, I lose track of more stuff. 😅 (I did check, but sorry if I still misspelled any names)
  10. I wonder if the organizers might consider a stream fans can purchase to support Ukraine. I think there would be lots of takers, because you might get to see Alina Cojocaru, one of the all time greats, or Katja Khaniukova, who was such a revelation for me in Dance for Ukraine, or any other casts the organizers would choose to stream. Fans unable to afford the ticket prices in these trying times, or unable to travel to London, could get the best of both worlds: see amazing dancers and support Ukraine. I would consider purchasing a stream for multiple casts, if such were available.
  11. Can I say how envious I am from the other side of the pond? Is there something similar on US TV, or have I been watching the wrong channels? Thanks for any insights.
  12. Thank you, that's very interesting to hear. I don't miss the coughing or even the clapping, surprisingly. I wonder if it felt a bit strange to the dancers, though, back in those days.
  13. Swan Lake on youtube, posted by official copyright holder Zelensky, Makhalina, from 1990, with a happy ending
  14. Such interesting insights and comments on this production. Would someone who has seen the ROH stream be able to comment, please, on whether the stream features the same dancers in the "The Royal Ballet rehearse The Dante Project" in the rehearsal pas de deux? Watson/Lamb and Ball/Hayward, IIRC? Thank you all in advance.
  15. Thank you all. I enjoyed POB and La Scala and I can see the appeal of both. For me it's pleasant to have fewer discussions with the spousal unit about what I once saw described (by a dance critic?) as 'misplaced dramatic accents.' FWIW I thought the emotional expression by the third 'In the night' couple superb. But I'm no expert--I only know this balance of emotion and dance appeals to me.
  16. Thank you all for the postings. These performances make the lockdown slightly more bearable. I hope the La Scala Giselle makes it to youtube. :)
  17. Thank you capybara and Jeannette. I have re-listened to the trio you mentioned and I'm embarrassed to say I don't quite hear it, but that's nothing unexpected since I am not a musician. Maybe capybara can hear it? I am sure that motifs get developed in pieces, like themes and variations, that I wouldn't recognize. It is helpful to know a program exists that has a breakdown of music sources. Thank you. I will try to keep an eye out for ebay offerings. And if anybody here could just straight out recognize the pieces or share the info from that program, that would be absolutely wonderful. So kind of everyone to help out a newbie. Thank you all.
  18. Thanks everyone, especially Jane S for the lead, Jan for the warm welcome. I did look it up but it seems Mr. Gamley has already passed away, and in any event I couldn't imagine contacting him to ask what operetta piece he sourced to create an orchestral score for that section of the ballet. Is there something like 'the great encyclopedia of ballet music, 20th century edition'? A kind friend, a very fine musician, advised me to listen to Die Fledermaus and I thought I listened with proper attention, trying to adjust my ears for the lack of singers, but I'm of the mind the music here didn't come from Die Fledermaus operetta itself. If it is from there and my ears just couldn't detect it, could my new learned friends please educate me as to which scene/song? Thank you all again
  19. Hello. Apologies for my first post being a question, but would anyone be so kind as to identify the pieces of music used in this excerpt from Roland Petit’s ‘Die Fledermaus’? https://youtu.be/HEH2OdoMnzM?t=59 Thank you all in advance.
