  1. According to the website - Approx 90 minutes including an interval of 25 minutes; Flight Pattern 30 minutes, Act 2 10 minutes and Act 3 20 minutes
  2. https://www.flickr.com/photos/royaloperahouse/albums/72177720303006246 The ROH's Mayerling gallery has been updated with images from performances with Matthew Ball and Vadim Muntagirov
  3. I was due to the go to the stage rehearsal yesterday morning but due to a last minute hiccup I wasn't able to attend. I had booked for the rehearsal rather than a performance as this piece isn't really something that appeals - particularly already having seen Flight Pattern. I might well pick up a last minute ticket to one of the performances.
  4. No he didn't - I wasn't quite sure who the lady was who introduced the afternoon -her microphone wasn't working at first!
  5. A very enjoyable afternoon - a particularly highlight was the Swan Lake pas de deux with Lukas Bjørneboe Brændsrød and Charlotte Tonkinson - what a handsome couple, Took my mother along for a day out in London (she had no interest or ballet or opera but still enjoyed it!) Apologies for the imaging (it was taken through the glass partitioning on the upper level of the floral hall)
  6. Well I was trying to think of a nice way to do so - the lady I was sitting next to (whose granddaughter was on stage as was one of them) called them prostitutes, but I think my description is nicer (!)
  7. This afternoon performance was my first ever Mayerling live and have only seen snippets on screen beforehand, so I have nothing to compare it with. Certainly the darkest ballet I think I have seen and possibly not something to watch if one is feeling particularly low! I also found the constant scene changes (although necessary) interfered too much with the flow of the storyline. Nevertheless excellent performances all round (I had booked particularly to see James Hay and Anna Rose O'Sullivan!) Also sat next to a lovely lady whose granddaughter was on stage as one of the courtesans Back tomorrow for the Friends open day!
  8. Bit of a shame it has been felt necessary to offer discounts but I suppose it's better that than an array of empty seats.
  9. The Telegraph has a Luxury supplement at a weekend every so often and there was an article with Reece and William about a month or so ago - a little bit about their careers and how they reached their current positions. Mainly though it was a fashion shoot.
  10. That’s odd - if I follow the link on the front page and then log in using my usual password etc it takes me to stream/offer and at that point it confirms the subscription as 6.99/69.99
  11. Had a quick look - nothing that wasn’t already available so I won’t be paying the Friends price of £6.99. I was hoping for the stream of the Ashton triple from this year - fingers crossed it appears soon.
  12. For similar reasons, that's why I have booked for the rehearsal on Tuesday 17th (£20 ticket for a decent seat)
  13. If you are a fairly regular visit to galleries, museums, exhibitions etc then I would recommend becoming a member of the Art Fund (formerly the National Art Collections Fund) as this gives significant reductions on ticket prices (particularly, though not exclusively for the national museums and galleries). Its membership card is now called the National Art Pass. The Freud exhibition at the National Gallery is £13 for holders of the Pass. Details below- https://www.artfund.org/national-art-pass (p.s. I am member of the Fund and have been for years)
  14. And secondly, some rehearsal pics - https://www.flickr.com/photos/royaloperahouse/albums/72177720302117272 Slightly strange timing, but I am booked for Mayerling on the 15th (matinee), the Friends Open Day on the following day, and then the rehearsal for Crystal Pite's new work on the Tuesday (three trips to London in four days!)
  15. I appreciate that there is a separate thread but as that just relates to seating, and as the run of Mayerling starts soon I thought I ought to start one. First, some cast changes just announced - Please be aware that the following cast changes have been made: WEDNESDAY 5 OCTOBER, 7.30PM: Christina Arestis is replaced by Itziar Mendizabal as Empress Elisabeth. FRIDAY 7 OCTOBER, 7.30PM: Kristen McNally is replaced by Annette Buvoli as Empress Elisabeth. Leticia Dias is replaced by Mayara Magri as Mitzi Caspar. THURSDAY 8 OCTOBER, 7.30PM: Christina Arestis is replaced by Itziar Mendizabal as Empress Elisabeth. SATURDAY 15 OCTOBER, 1 PM: Kristen McNally is replaced by Annette Buvoli as Empress Elisabeth. Leticia Dias is replaced by Mayara Magri as Mitzi Caspar. SATURDAY 15 OCTOBER, 7PM: Christina Arestis is replaced by Itziar Mendizabal as Empress Elisabeth. FRIDAY 21 OCTOBER, 7.30PM: Lauren Cuthbertson is replaced by Yasmine Naghdi as Mary Vetsera. Meaghan Grace Hinkis is replaced by Isabella Gasparini as Princess Stephanie. FRIDAY 11 NOVEMBER, 7.30PM: Lauren Cuthbertson is replaced by Yasmine Naghdi as Mary Vetsera. Meaghan Grace Hinkis is replaced by Isabella Gasparini as Princess Stephanie.
  16. Interestingly I have just had an email from ROH offering 25% off seats for La Boheme for Friends so presumably it's not selling well.
  17. Compared to previous first days of booking, today seemed very lacklustre; I have booked for the class on stage in December as they are always fascinating. I am none too keen on McGregor but having never seen Woolf Works have booked for that and after some considerable umming and ahing (mainly over the price of the seats) have booked to see William Bracewell and Fumi Kaneko in Sleeping (as they were so terrific in R&J), Rather a long wait as I have nothing booked for January and February and usually need something to look forward to after Christmas as January looms!
  18. Such an intensely moving sight - quite overwhelming at times - particularly the lone pipers. Lovely to see Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
  19. Managed to get two tickets for the afternoon without any problems 😀
  20. From Dancersdiary's YouTube - final studio rehearsal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ggk6LbNK1Q&t=108s
  21. I didn't ask! However they now have a little more information on their website: https://www.roh.org.uk/tickets-and-events/friends-60th-anniversary-details
