  2. As the mixed bill starts on this coming Saturday (it is usual to start with a matinee?) I thought I would start this new topic. There is also a filmed Insight this evening: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMZuoPEYNBs Very much looking forward to these performances - and am booked for this coming Saturday matinee and the evening on the 30th. Might book for Monday 2nd May as well if I can cope with trains on a Bank Holiday!
  3. Absolutely - someone specialising in HipHop doesn't seem the obvious choice for a classic ballet company.
  4. Lovely to see Liam Boswell get a prominent role - I first saw him in 2019 when the RBS performed Liam Scarlett's The Cunning Little Vixen and he stood out for me then.
  5. I don’t want to prejudge the mixed bill as I’m not going until the 2nd but as a very general question - what input/control does Kevin O’Hare/Royal Ballet have over newly commissioned works?
  6. Some rehearsal pictures of The Weathering from ROH's Flickr https://www.flickr.com/photos/royaloperahouse/albums/72177720297536330
  7. Although I am at work I did log in to check the prices - much as I would like to have gone I can’t justify spending that sort of money especially with council tax and energy prices going up next month. I do hope they are able to sell out for such a worthwhile cause
  8. I see there's camera filming on 24th March and 1st April - does that mean they plan to stream this in the future do you think? Still plenty of seats available - I'm booked for Saturday 2nd.
  9. I would agree with you Antica - I felt a bit underwhelmed - I should just preface that by saying that I wasn't feeling great and I had a complete fidget sitting next to me after the first interval (he had sat with his mate in another seat for the first two acts and someone hadn't turned up) and he kept looking at his mobile which I was very tempted to grab and but managed to restrain myself. Bracewell was magnificent and whilst it may be unfair to compare him to Vadim who I saw a fortnight ago, his acting was certainly much more expressive.
  10. From Francesa Hayward's IG: https://www.instagram.com/p/CbIxMhBNYL7/ Looking forward to Wednesday evening !
  11. It happened to me twice - its a bit of a rigmarole to be reinstated and I asked why I had been kicked off. IG apologised and said it was nothing I had done - it was just random!
  12. I went to the Faberge exhibition which is being held at the V&A this afternoon (mainly a gift for my mother's birthday). I would thoroughly recommend it if you can get a ticket - although it is sold out until May more tickets may become available. Obviously due to the current situation in Ukraine anything currently connected with Russia is potentially controversial and I have seen reports about whether the exhibition will continue. Some objects have been lent by the Kremlin Museums and State Hermitage and seeing those labels makes one feel slightly unconformable but the vast majority of the exhibits (and there are a lot) are lent by the Queen, other museums or private collectors. The last room contains a very large collection of Imperial Easter Eggs and I doubt we will see as many in one room for many years, if ever. 13. Just had mine - I have to confess I couldn't remember booking for that date !
  14. I am always grateful when any of my visits coincide with Rob S being there as I can be guaranteed some terrific pictures of the event!
  15. I’m in the GT so I’ll try and catch HRH! I’ve got Malcolm Rifkind in front of me - I was trying to think who he was!
  16. Goodness me - all dancers at the top of their game tonight. A genuine privilege to see them.
  17. A very moving standing ovation to the Ukrainian national anthem to start. Excellent first act and Yamine terrific
  18. Ah thanks- good job I didn’t throw a wobbly! I’ll try and remember for April
  19. I know! I wasn’t going to have an argument through the plastic sheeting so I will email customer service tomorrow. Hope others have better luck!
