  1. The Telegraph has a Luxury supplement at a weekend every so often and there was an article with Reece and William about a month or so ago - a little bit about their careers and how they reached their current positions. Mainly though it was a fashion shoot.
  2. That’s odd - if I follow the link on the front page and then log in using my usual password etc it takes me to stream/offer and at that point it confirms the subscription as 6.99/69.99
  3. Had a quick look - nothing that wasn’t already available so I won’t be paying the Friends price of £6.99. I was hoping for the stream of the Ashton triple from this year - fingers crossed it appears soon.
  4. For similar reasons, that's why I have booked for the rehearsal on Tuesday 17th (£20 ticket for a decent seat)
  5. If you are a fairly regular visit to galleries, museums, exhibitions etc then I would recommend becoming a member of the Art Fund (formerly the National Art Collections Fund) as this gives significant reductions on ticket prices (particularly, though not exclusively for the national museums and galleries). Its membership card is now called the National Art Pass. The Freud exhibition at the National Gallery is £13 for holders of the Pass. Details below- https://www.artfund.org/national-art-pass (p.s. I am member of the Fund and have been for years)
  6. And secondly, some rehearsal pics - https://www.flickr.com/photos/royaloperahouse/albums/72177720302117272 Slightly strange timing, but I am booked for Mayerling on the 15th (matinee), the Friends Open Day on the following day, and then the rehearsal for Crystal Pite's new work on the Tuesday (three trips to London in four days!)
  7. I appreciate that there is a separate thread but as that just relates to seating, and as the run of Mayerling starts soon I thought I ought to start one. First, some cast changes just announced - Please be aware that the following cast changes have been made: WEDNESDAY 5 OCTOBER, 7.30PM: Christina Arestis is replaced by Itziar Mendizabal as Empress Elisabeth. FRIDAY 7 OCTOBER, 7.30PM: Kristen McNally is replaced by Annette Buvoli as Empress Elisabeth. Leticia Dias is replaced by Mayara Magri as Mitzi Caspar. THURSDAY 8 OCTOBER, 7.30PM: Christina Arestis is replaced by Itziar Mendizabal as Empress Elisabeth. SATURDAY 15 OCTOBER, 1 PM: Kristen McNally is replaced by Annette Buvoli as Empress Elisabeth. Leticia Dias is replaced by Mayara Magri as Mitzi Caspar. SATURDAY 15 OCTOBER, 7PM: Christina Arestis is replaced by Itziar Mendizabal as Empress Elisabeth. FRIDAY 21 OCTOBER, 7.30PM: Lauren Cuthbertson is replaced by Yasmine Naghdi as Mary Vetsera. Meaghan Grace Hinkis is replaced by Isabella Gasparini as Princess Stephanie. FRIDAY 11 NOVEMBER, 7.30PM: Lauren Cuthbertson is replaced by Yasmine Naghdi as Mary Vetsera. Meaghan Grace Hinkis is replaced by Isabella Gasparini as Princess Stephanie.
  8. Interestingly I have just had an email from ROH offering 25% off seats for La Boheme for Friends so presumably it's not selling well.
  9. Compared to previous first days of booking, today seemed very lacklustre; I have booked for the class on stage in December as they are always fascinating. I am none too keen on McGregor but having never seen Woolf Works have booked for that and after some considerable umming and ahing (mainly over the price of the seats) have booked to see William Bracewell and Fumi Kaneko in Sleeping (as they were so terrific in R&J), Rather a long wait as I have nothing booked for January and February and usually need something to look forward to after Christmas as January looms!
  10. Such an intensely moving sight - quite overwhelming at times - particularly the lone pipers. Lovely to see Prince George and Princess Charlotte.
  11. Managed to get two tickets for the afternoon without any problems 😀
  12. From Dancersdiary's YouTube - final studio rehearsal https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1Ggk6LbNK1Q&t=108s
  13. I didn't ask! However they now have a little more information on their website: https://www.roh.org.uk/tickets-and-events/friends-60th-anniversary-details
  14. From the ROH: Thank you so much for your email and for your interest in our Friends' Open Day. Tickets for this event will be free and you can book up to 4 tickets. Please do let us know if you have any further queries and thank you for your support of the ROH.
  15. I've dropped the ROH an email to ask about prices and will let you know if I get a response before booking opens next week!
  16. No - its not you - I thought exactly the same thing. Also if I ask a friend or family member to go with me, I'd like to know the cost beforehand!
  17. I had an invite from the ROH last month regarding its future streaming (as below). Unfortunately I couldn't go as I was working but hopefully this research will be of some value - I work with the Royal Opera House as a User Experience Researcher. I am contacting you as we are conducting some research to improve the experience of streaming ROH content online. The sessions will be scheduled at the Royal Opera House on Thursday 21 July and each session will last up to 90 minutes. You will take part in a research session with two other participants, working together to group information into categories. The results of this exercise will then be used to help organise some content on our website.
  18. Such a lovely man - I watched him as a child with Jackanory (reading the Arabel's Raven series which were some of my favourite books as a child) and then did the same for my niece and nephew decades later with Old Jack's Boat
  19. This is from the Courtauld which gives a bit more info https://courtauld.ac.uk/news-blogs/2022/wordfly-incident-and-response/
  20. I appreciate this isn't quite what people are looking for, but a lovely video nonetheless - from Dancersdiary IG https://www.instagram.com/p/CgE9JP0jZQ6/
  21. What a terrific afternoon. I was slightly dreading going today as I am not very good in the heat (and try and avoid London during the summer months), and was a bit concerned about how the trains would be. Thankfully the journey there and back was fine and other than around Waterloo I didn't find it too hot. Apart from a couple of the dancers I can't put names to faces, but the quality of performances all round was excellent and I am sure there was some very proud families there this afternoon. Other than Raymonda I hadn't seen any of the other words before and I think probably Yondering stood out for me - joyous with such great accompaniment with music by Stephen Foster and vocals by Thomas Hampson (which I will see if I can download if possible). I see it was being filmed - does anyone know if this will be streamed in the future?
  22. Today’s programme is a bit thin! Though perhaps that reflects the reduced price of £6! I’m sure there was more last time.
  23. There's a bit of info here - I presume this covers both Holland Park and at Covent Garden. Very much looking forward to it - if not the heat ! https://www.royalballetschool.org.uk/summer-performances/
