Hi everyone, we are feeling very excited about next week. I was wondering how many classes/schemes etc do your DC do in addition to JAs? What about gymnastics or other training? How many ballet syllabus classes? Private lessons, etc? Many thanks in advance.

Thanks so much! Last year the Birmingham Royal ballet had open auditions for the nutcracker at the Royal Albert Hall but it seems they are not doing it this year.

Hi Sunrise81, many thanks for this. From your experience, do you know how many JA’s are offered a place on an intensive course? Is it as impossible as everything else? I was hoping JA’s would get a place more easily 😩From this year’s handbook, it looks like Year 5s can apply for both Spring and Summer intensives. 😘 Do they receive any tips or help with photos?

Hi Everyone, just have a quick question. My ds is starting JA in September in year 5. I was wondering about the Easter intensive course. Do JA formally audition for it? What is the audition like for intensive courses? He will have just turned 10 before the Easter holidays. many thanks in advance and enjoy the summer and getting uniforms ready 😘

Looks great. Not sure I can manage the tweak but will try buying those as well (can’t ever have enough uniform anyway).Oh and he has ballet barre? Wow I got the leotards yesterday in sizes 1 and 2 and size 1 fits really well (the crotch was even ok). It is all so exciting (sort of wish it was me going 😂

Ok, thanks for letting me know. as they are optional ds might just wear his Nike joggers as they are quite dark. I did order the fruit of the loom from amazon (still waiting on delivery) in a smaller size as my youngest can wear them for p.e. anyway. I will check also if drawstrings can become functional as suggested above.

Hi, we are still waiting for the uniform to arrive but H&M joggers have drawstrings but the blue might not be as navy.

Hi #fairydust, My son is 9 going into year 5 (but has only finished Grade 2).and first time attending Dartington. I got some info yesterday but have not logged in yet (we are on holiday). He is not boarding though. Will look at the info and get back to you. Is your dd boarding? hope to meet you there 😀

Yes, we had to send the student info by the 1st. There was an option to apply for funding and I don’t know when the deadline for that is but if people request funding and do not get it, they might decide to decline. so I suspect people waitlisted might not hear until later in the summer when funding decisions and invoices are sent.
