My DS does 32 and we would like 32 next year. I think he needs all the training he can get. We are about an 1.5 hour away and it has been ok. It does split the family up on weekends with one parent going to London and the other staying locally with another child. DS loved being in the boys class and looking up to the year 6 boys. We seem to have a different half-term so had the 2 Saturdays of our half-term are taken by JA and this half-term we have the workshop in the middle too but we are very happy and feel very fortunate and time is just flying and already more than half-way through the year.

@Balletmumlife many thanks. Yes, it sounds fabulous. From your experience, if they attend all the rehearsal do they generally get to dance?

Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone has danced at the Summer Fair before? My ds is year 5 but first year JA. The email says they only dance if they have obtained the sufficient standards ( I was feeling remotely worried, lol). Any experiences?

Hello, my ds attended a couple of these. He really enjoyed them and found them challenging. First time he had just turned 8 and only had Grade 1 RAD. I was very impressed with the course, thé studios are amazing and parents are generally allowed to watch through the glass. They have a technique class, a stretch class, artistry or virtuosity or an allegro or adage class so they get exposed to different teachers and elements. I would recommend it. Great experience.

I thought both the email from Lauren and the email from Henry could have used some editing. Using the same email template as for the Easter intensives would have been fine. I did not get any further emails after accepting the Easter offer (until invoice time) so it was confusing receiving two extra emails soliciting a response (after having already accepted the offer and spoken to Lauren). A sharp contrast to the usual flawless communication from J.A.

We had accepted the place already for my DS and today I got 2 emails one from Lauren and one from Henry asking me to accept or decline if we haven’t already. Still unsure if he has accommodation.

I just emailed them regarding the date/accommodation confusion and got an automated reply saying that Upper School Summer Intensive Results will be issued on Thursday 16 January

Thank you Coniger, but did you speak to them? Was your application also for the intensive at White Lodge (i.e. for under 16 years old)? I called but they said to call back in the morning. Just wanted to be sure before I tell him, lol. thanks again and congratulations to you too.

Hi All, just received the email but it does not mention whether we have accommodation and the dates seem to be wrong 13th of July until 8th of August? My ds will be 10 so applied for intensives at White Lodge )lower School). I am worried it is a mistake as the offer for Spring intensive was worded differently and specified White Lodge Richmond and also stated that a residential place was offered.

Hi everyone, My DS will due the residential course. I am confused about the dates. DOothey arrive on the 4th of April or do classes start on the 4th? He has JA on the 4th too. thank you

We did the application for both in one go, so we used the same photos. Has anyone gotten a yes and a no with the same set of photos?

Good morning everyone, I was wondering if anyone received an email about spring and summer intensives. I saw the applications are open now but we have not received the email (thought JA’s would). My DS will turn 10 the week before Spring intensives but I think that should be old enough to apply. Many thanks in advance and happy week!

It is lovely to have a forum to discuss things with other parents. I was wondering if there are any whatsapp groups for the parents of children in the same class, etc (i.e. my DS is in JA4)., Looking forward to next Saturday.

Thank you so much. That makes me feel a bit better that he is not the only one not doing it. Yes, paradoxically it will also take time away from ballet but would have loved being able to do it.

My ds had a great time. The London boys had an email to audition for the sleeping beauty earlier this week. Unfortunately, due to the time commitment and days off school my ds won’t be able to audition for it , so feeling a bit deflated. Anyone else in the same position?

Many thanks @BalletBoyMumma, this seems similar to what my ds will do, just one ballet class and 30 minutes private ballet coaching locally. I was worried it was not enough (though he will also do another scheme most Sundays).
