    ok , thanks, I thought they were encouraging ds to submit more in terms of grand allegro, like to use performance recordings ( which we don't have) . Glad it was just a general email (got confused about the Acting monologue at the end of the email too (then realized it was for the older applicants). Anyway, I emailed her back and she said the panel had viewed his video. I am getting startled easily with any email these days. Thanks again

    Hi, I just got a long email from the Hammond, I think they might want more material. Not sure, did anyone else get it? I had submitted on the 2nd of January.

    We also had the 4th of January. It is going to be the longest wait for everything. Though, will Tring just go by the video even for funding?

    I think more parents of boys who do ballet might try to connect on forums as they might not know many other ballet boys locally (this is my case at least). So parents of boys might appear overly represented on this forum. I got no help or support from local dance school for applications and especially the recent video applications were very stressful and a lonely process so it was comforting to see other parents going through the process on this forum.

    DS is at London, he had the 32 sessions (though obviously cut short), I remember consenting to it on the registration form, , feel like we missed out.

    When are JAs usually seen by physio? My ds started last year in year 5 and then we went into lockdown, would they all have been seen by physio in year 6?

    Hi Bunny, I submitted the application on the 27th and then submitted a photo and video link to the registrar by email. There wasn't a space to put the link when I applied (like there was for RBS). I got an email today saying that the link appears to be working (though in the mean time I had sent her another link because youtube had a copyright issue). If you sent the link by email, I am sure it is fine.

    I would totally prefer a live audition but I think they will have to offer a zoom option for some who can't travel or need to isolate. Also, the logistics of traveling in terms of hotels, restaurants and toilet facilities might be difficult in a Tier 4 situation. Anyway, does anyone know if a large percentage of JAs make it to finals generally? I think there were 30 boys last year but not sure how many year 6 boys there are across all centers in total?

    Obviously, we would be super happy to experience finals but I hope the whole process does not drag out too long. I am sure families also need to make decisions about secondary schools before the Summer term. For example , we are liable for school fees if we don't give a full term notice at his current school. I also wonder what Elmhurst and the Hammond will do for finals.

    I think the 5th of January. I wonder if they will choose a smaller number to go to finals so that they can more easily audition them whether live or on zoom or whether they will give more children the benefit of the doubt this year. I hope the latter lol

    Thanks, I registered now and they just want a full body photo sent to registrar and then the video with the 5th of February as deadline. Thanks again and all the best.

    Hi Everyone, regarding the Hammond, I have not registered yet as I am still doing the video and just recently decided to apply. Can I register before having the video? it seems like a long application, do they need photos or anything else? I remember there used to be photos requirements with figures looking a bit like aliens but can no longer find the info on the website. Anyway, Happy New Year Everyone!

    I think I will film both sides but just one side for the plie exercise (though I have the two sides from Tring). My ds does not do Jazz so not sure what to do, and wished they had put drama instead of vocals, lol. This is all getting a bit too much, nice to see other parents are also doing videos right now. This forum really helps me to carry on with this. Thank you all. xx

    Hi, hope you all had a fab Christmas! I am trying to pay the Spring intensive invoice, and I pressed the submit button but it is just circling around. Anyone else had problems with the transactions?

    Thanks for your kind words @TwirlyWhirly. I wonder what is going to happen with final auditions in terms of of their ability to hold onsite live auditions, or zoom, etc. and how long will the process be in terms of having a final decision. DS might not make it past the preliminary video I submitted though, lol.
