  1. No nothing at all on the label or invoice, I might just give the dancing boutique a call and check with them
  2. Can anyone tell me if the straps on the tring CBA lilac leotard need to be attached in a criss cross at the back or straight over the shoulder. I'm thinking straight over the shoulder but just wanted to check. Also do they prefer 2 cross cross elastic or 1 elastic straight across on ballet shoes. I know some teachers differ on this as elmhurst seem to like 2 elastics crossed and I know some certain RBS teachers only like 1 single elastic.
  3. Good luck to you all for the upcoming auditions, I must admit I'm glad we got the elmhurst & tring preliminary auditions over with in November now. Good luck x
  4. I've just booked a room at the premier inn at longbridge station which is about a 10 min drove to elmhurst for £29 a night for 2 people ...bargain :-)
  5. We stayed at the premier inn at Tring, only a few minutes drive to Tring Park School and a Beefeater on site. Small rooms compared to most premier inns but friendly staff, clean and convenient for the auditions. I think it was about £70 for us both with breakfast.
  6. Hi dancing2003, no you don't have to pay that amount to go through to the funding audition. You only pay that if you will be accepting the offer regardless of getting the funding, but want to try for funding as well. So if you can afford the fees anyway and want to secure a place regardless then you pay this to secure the place. I can't afford the fees myself so my DD will be just going through to funding audition and I don't have to pay anything but if she's unsuccessful with funding then I may have lost her place she was offered but as I can't afford it anyway it doesn't matter.
  7. I've just received the same letter :-) my DD has been offered a place for year 9 and has also been put forward for the funding audition yaaayyyy :-) happy house today. I wouldn't be able to send my DD without funding so I won't be paying the deposit to secure the place we will have to take our chances :-)
  8. Hmmm so it's likely that if you get funding at Tring they'll be looking for a quick commitment from you then as well before you know the outcome of Hammond's, tough decision :-(
  9. Yes that's difficult and so soon to be making the commitment without having results from the others. I'm really not sure what I would do in that case. We would need some funding so I wouldn't put a deposit down anyway and DD knows she won't be going without funding so it's different for us. When will you know about the bursary from Hammond's? We're not applying there so I don't know anything about their procedures.
  10. Do you think they're trying to establish if you would be able to afford and willing to pay for the place regardless of whether your successful getting the funding. In which case if your able to pay for the place without funding maybe they view it that the funded place should go to someone who isn't able to pay for the place. I don't mean this in a negative way towards you, I just wonder if that's what they're trying to establish by asking you for a deposit.
  11. Well done, great news :-) still waiting for our letter.....damn postman :-)
  12. Have you heard anything yet Dance2013 , still nothing here. It seems like such a long time since the audition. I hope they don't keep us hanging on much longer :-(
  13. Did anyone on here do the November Tring full time auditions? If so, is it this week we should be expecting letters?
  14. Oh no so sorry to hear that :-( and I'm sure there will be yes's from others...good luck to her x
  15. Have you opened it yet? My DD wants to know if your Dd is through :-) let us know ASAP ...good luck x
  16. My DD is 15th jan in Bristol :-) no time yet
  17. On no I couldn't wait, the letter just arrived and I practically ripped the thing open ....and it's a YES to the finals !!! So happy for her, I'll be putting a few congratulations balloons out so when she walks down the street she'll know we've got good news. Good luck to everyone who hasn't opened yet x
  18. Just had a yes letter for group 3 starting January, well done Tring for not keeping us dangling ....DD going to be over the moon
  19. Yes maybe they've split the audition groups as when we were leaving it looked like a younger group were turning up, perhaps yrs 7-8
  20. Audition day was great at elmhurst today, very relaxed :-) DD auditioned for year 9 entry and felt it went well. The class wasn't too big ...I would say around 20 give or take and it was a mixed group auditioning for yrs 9 & 10 although there seemed to be more going for year 10. Nothing too complicated came up according to DD and It was lovely to see the last 10 mins of the audition. Good to meet you Huddsballetmum and the other lady I was speaking too, so sorry I didn't get your name but hope you had safe journeys home and Good luck to your DD's.
  21. Good luck for tomorrow, I'll be driving up tonight ready for tomorrow too.
  22. Thank you, good luck to your dd too for the 6th form auditions. Has your daughter been in vocational training since year 7, if so which school did she go to?
  23. Thanks for the replies, all your experiences and opinions are helpful and I didn't mean to cause any offence by using the term 'assessing out' it's very unfortunate that children are given such an amazing opportunity and then it can be taken away a year later or even at the end of the term with an associate course and I certainly wasn't referring to any child as just a statistic. My daughter is in an associate programme and understands the pressures, although not to the extent of a full time student. She also knows she needs to fight for her place and put in 100% every week as there are so many talented and dedicated children out there that would do anything for the opportunity. She's also had a 'no' for year 7 entry into RBS so has experienced this disappointment too. Great advice, it's all good experience
  24. Hi everyone, this is my first post on this forum although I've been reading the info on here which has been so helpful. Dd is doing the audition rounds for vocational training for entry into year 9, she's auditioning for RBS (15th jan in Bristol) Elmhurst (no date yet) & Tring (21 nov). I thought it may be helpful to find some people doing a similar round of auditions to me to share info and support each other as I've found this is taking over my life and my husband is sick of hearing me talk about it :-) My daughter desperately wants to go to Elmhurst but I understand its difficult getting a place for year 9 as the existing students are not assessed out until the end of year 9 so she would have more of a chance for year 10 whereas RBS students are assessed out every year. Does anyone know about tring?
