  1. They've just told me they can't discuss the reserve list :-( any second now she'll be home and I'll have to tell her :-( this is all so hard
  2. Me too Clara, my DD is going to be devastated when I tell her. She was recalled for the physio yesterday so she was on such a high and today it's all been shattered, I could cry right now. I hope she can pick herself back up in time for the elmhurst finals :-(
  3. We saw the physio, but haven't heard anything yet. I'm assuming they'll write but not too sure.
  4. 11.15 for us, good luck to everyone attending :-)
  5. Aaww so young, she must really want it :-) good luck to her. My DD is attending the funding audition this Thursday but she will be going into year 9 if she is successful.
  6. Congratulations tomuchtallent, what year will your dd be going into?
  7. Fab news :-) I'm sure he'll really enjoy the audition at Tring
  8. No I'm not sure at this stage but from what I've read about tring they don't have many funded spaces :-(
  9. You don't have to sing at tring, you do have to do a 1 minute solo dance but the extra drama or singing piece is optional. My Dd didn't do the drama piece and she was offered a place a recommended for funding audition.
  10. I think unless your going for year 7 the chances are so slim as they're comparing against students which are already at white lodge. I know this is the case with any vocational school but with so few spaces at WL it must be so hard to get in. I knew it was always a long shot and elmhurst and Tring have always been her favoured schools where she feels more comfortable so everything happens for a reason :-)
  11. Dtadmin our audition was on 15th jan in bath, maybe they send all letters at the same time. Your exactly right legseleven. It'll be a wake up call for DD and show her she needs to up her game now to get through the finals :-)
  12. I'm going to kick this thread off with a no from rbs finals from RBS for my DD. We don't hear about the associates until later but I know DD will be fine as she is through to the elmhurst Finals and Tring so it's not all doom and gloom here :-) good luck to everyone else x
  13. No letter here today :-( my postman has normally been by now but I haven't had any post at all today
  14. Hopefully tomorrow will bring us all some good news :-) I'll be looking on here in the morning to see if anyone else has had their letters
  15. We're waiting for a letter for RBS lower school too ...Is so disappointing when the postman comes and then you know you've got a whole 24 hours to wait for him to come again haha :-) it's killing me haha
  16. Yes that's true, I saw people in tears yesterday too....bless their little hearts I felt very sorry for some of them.
  17. When I got home DD & I decided it was more like the physcing out before a boxing match than a ballet audition warm up session :-)
  18. Yes it was a later older year group than yours and don't get me wrong I Agree with the whole warming up thing to prevent injury and enhance performance and my DD doesn't mind the competitiveness either as she can hold her own when she's got her ballet shoes on :-) I did find it a very competitive group (more so than normal) and even overheard a parent who I have seen at other events making a comment about my DD and sadly DD overheard her too. Luckily it made her more determined and didn't affect her performance. There were definitely children that didn't want to go into the warm up room as they felt intimidated as I saw it, which is a shame.
  19. Yes we were at bath auditions for WL yesterday too and told the same...a week or two for full time but decisions about associate courses will take longer but will be before Easter. Very very competitive warming up sessions going on yesterday :-) definitely not for the faint hearted ....felt sorry for some poor souls that clearly didn't want to enter the warm up studio :-(
  20. Me too...I've made a few and have recently been on a course to tweak my skills ... As I'm starting to feel more confident I'm getting more and more into it now :-) I'm like you Sheila I would gladly just sit and sew all day :-)
  21. I feel for you, my daughter cut the bottom of her foot open the week before her elmhurst and tring audition in November, it was awful she was still on crutches the day before the audition as every time she walked on it the cut would open up. She wasn't able to do any prep classes leading up to it she just had to rest it. Amazingly she performed fab at the audition so maybe the rest and relaxation was good for her in hindsight and I think I did all the worrying for her that week. Good luck to your DD I hope she feels better in time x
  22. I had to send the first leotard back it was so tiny, quite surprised they wear socks too ....DD not happy ...she hates wearing socks now ;-)
  23. I just called them and they said it should have come with instructions :-) but it does go straight over the shoulder
