  1. Time to share happy news from us too as DD2 has been offered a place at LSC. It's going to be a family annex for us there next year! Anyway, needless to say DD2 is very happy about it as it was her first choice! Good luck to all the ones still waiting to hear!
  2. Can you tell me at what time the Central finals are on Saturday and Sunday please? DD2 is doing her preliminary audition on Saturday and I'm trying to get organised in case she's offered finals...
  3. I understand Dancing10 but unless things have changed for next year, what they call a ballet degree course is only for the 3rd year specialisation. The recall are always in either ballet, contemporary, jazz or MT. I don't want to be right at all cost, it's just that I don't want people to be disappointed and it took me a while to understand their system before DD joined them and even after she did, I discovered new things... My DD was given the choice to recall in either jazz or MT, she chose MT and is doing exactly the same course as her friends who did the contemporary or ballet recall auditions except for the options that they all chose separately. That's when her friends who do more ballet get pointe work for example... x PS I actually hope that they have changed things and that you're right because it would be good for DD2 who's a ballet dancer...
  4. I feel the need to repeat that there is no classical ballet degree course as it's the same course for everybody in the first 2 years... I just don't want people to misunderstand and be disappointed.
  5. Do you know if it's the same for the Foundation students, dancing 10?
  6. I was talking about that with DD last week when she was home for the break and she said there are 4 or 5 in the first year if I remember well. Most from the EU and one American...
  7. Anyone doing the audition at RCS in London tomorrow?
  8. Yes the first TWO years are common with students being streamed in different levels. They chose their specialties in the third year. DD1 is there in 1st year. The 3rd year ballet students are not many. According to DD, the 3rd year ballet students are good but maybe not enough to become only ballet dancers. It's definitely not the right school for someone who is solely wanting to become a ballet dancer. I want to insist on the fact that it is a wonderful school and that DD1 is very happy there as she is a polyvalent dancer... You can PM me if you want specifics... Hope it helps!
  9. I know Picture, I agree with you it's extremely rare but my point was DD1 is actually not the youngest student there...
  10. I just checked lsc entry requirements and no minimum age is stated as long as one has 3 GCSEs and 2 A'levels and 280 UCAS points.
  11. I think it might have to do with it yes but DD1 is there now and quite a few of her friends are 17. They could be Scottish though...
  12. I'm sorry to hear that Katymac... To answer your question, DD1 auditioned last year at 16 and started this year at 17 so it's least a year old. DD2 auditioned this year and she is 16. The UCAS points are still needed though... Maybe my DDs were allowed to audition because they where in their last year of secondary school... Is your DD happy where she is?
  13. Are you still asking about LSC, Anna C? If so, no it's from 16.
  14. There is no 3 year degree course in a special type of dance at LSC. Everybody has the same classes in the first 2 years and specialises in the 3rd year. There are quite a few options to chose from every term in the first 2 years which allow you to do more ballet or jazz or singing for example but everybody does the same Theatre dance degree. LSC is a wonderful school but not a ballet school perse...
  15. Hi Pups_mum, DD1 is at LSC if you're ever in need of information... Good luck for the recall!
  16. Sorry, we haven't done it yet so can't help you there Dancing10... How long does it normally take?
  17. Thanks Sam & everybody else... DD2 is enrolled for the audition and I've been following the school for a while... I'm just unsure of what it has to offer and especially how, I suppose. It seems very different from other schools... I don't know exactly what I'm unsure about but something is making me so... I suppose we can always go and see... That's why all your opinions and knowledge are important to me. Sam, what you said about companies was interesting especially since DD2is very interested in neo-classic and modern ballet. May I ask where you are in France? We're in the North. Anymore opinion is welcome and if we do decide to go, I'll report here so that more people can gain knowledge of the school.
  18. Hi all, I'm looking for any information about Rudra in Lausanne. I know it's difficult to get in but do people know about its reputation (bad or good), where graduates go, etc. DD2 really wants to audition there and I'm not sure... Any help would be good! Thank you,
  19. Merry Christmas from France to all of you! You brought me so much information and support over the years! Thank you... I hope 2016 treats you all very well!
