DD2 has a place too for the Senior SS. It will be her third there and she's very happy to go again...

So news from yesterday... Train wise, everything went well after the difficult start and DD2 was on time on stage! Phew... Audition wise, not so good! She got to the final last year but it didn't happen this year even though she has progressed a lot and one of her friends who was offered a place last year and didn't take it, didn't even get the final this year As someone said about Rambert, there is no point trying to second guess things as I have learned over the last 10 years!!! DD2 has learned not to stress about auditions so she's already planned her next one and especially next year as those will be very important indeed... Yes Lin, DD3 has been studying ballet vocationally in France for a year now but next year she will go to DD1's old school. A vocational school as well but a multidiscipline one as ballet is not really her thing. She'll be doing ballet, jazz, contemporary, theatre, singing and MT... A bit like The Hammond I suppose...

Starting off badly, first train late! Luckily I had planned for that... Thank you all for the nice wishes!

Off to Paris today for DD2's audition with Conservatoire de Paris! She got the recall last year and a plain no the 2 years before that!!! Lots of hope and trying not to at the same time for today! We'll be zigzagging France as she had the first of her end of year shows last night so we couldn't go before today, another show tonight at 8.30 and she's one of the first ones on stage and the train (if on time) will get us to the theatre at 8!!! Then if she gets the recall, back to Paris tomorrow morning and back to the theatre again before 8 tomorrow evening!!! And we live 250 kms away from Paris! We just settled on where her big sister will be studying next year after a whirlwind of auditions to start again with DD2. Luckily DD3 auditioned in March and was successful as it was her only audition... Being a dancers mum (or dad) is exhausting!

Thanks Invisiblecircus! The first year of the BA is a common year for all streams at LSC (Contemporary, ballet, jazz and MT). They specialise only from the second year onwards which was why LSC was DD1's favourite school as she's not sure yet if she wants to major in MT or in jazz. The feeling was really nice there for both auditions and the students seem very happy and dedicated.

Thank you Katymac! It did affect us and DD1 was offered a place on the BA hons which is wonderful as it was her first choice! Very happy household here tonight!!! Now how do we pay it all is another question...

Yes Tulip, POBS does take kids outside France but auditions stop at the age of 13. After that, you can only get a private audition and it's incredibly difficult to get an invitation... You are not wrong Kat09, sorry!

DD2 got a no for the Antwerp yearly programme but a yes for their SS ... It's not too bad as she was not going to go even if she got a place for the yearly programme since she still has a year left at school but we wanted her to try to know when she stood in preparation for next year... Since they send her a copy of how the jury marked her during the audition, I'd say we are very happy she went because she now knows where she was lacking. Of course you have to be able to read Dutch but thankfully Google Translate exists!

The Royal Ballet School in Antwerp is also Vaganova and runs a summer school too.
