The Fashion Insitute of Technology Museum in New York (highly recommended to visit if you're ever in NY) has an exhibition about ballet and fashion at the moment. They have started posting videos of presentations at a symposium last month that are really interesting. From the Deutsche Welle news site: Bars, restaurants, day care centers, theaters, and cinemas will stay closed until further notice. Religious gatherings are also canceled for the foreseeable future. The theatres need to update their websites though. At the moment you can still buy tickets online for Stuttgart Ballet for performances after April 19! No doubt that will get fixed tomorrow.

I saw the production live in Stuttgart last summer and much MUCH preferred the Rose designs to the Georgiadis ones. For one thing, they helped distinguish between all those damn women.

Always stunningly beautiful in my opinion. Was heartbroken when the National Ballet of Canada ditched his Onegin designs for much inferior ones by Santo Loquasto. I think Tatiana's third act red dress is one of the most beautiful costumes in ballet.

This IS the Royal Danish Ballet. I have seen this production live and actually really enjoyed Act 2. I haven't watched it on my DVD because after trying to watch the Tarantella I gave up because of the annoying camerawork

thanks for your concern, Anne. It's pretty much wiped out my business for this year. I had four group trips scheduled between now and the end of June; two of them are now off and I'm not at all optimistic about the other two. I can't usually organize fall trips because I have to wait till all the companies announce what they're doing to identify the "best ballet for your buck" trips, and by the time that happens (Stuttgart, for instance, doesn't announce what they're doing till June typcially), people have already made their travel plans for the fall. Maybe not this year though. For now I am hunkered down with Minkus (my cat) at home in Toronto and not going anywhere! Stay well, everyone!
