  1. DD is an SA in Birmingham and was never asked to do this although she could but too much hyper mobility has caused its own issues unfortunately!
  2. DD couldn't go last year due to kidney stones but loved it the previous year. Would recommend highly.
  3. Thanks Tutugirl Yes Lynsey and Simon are the best. DD loves it at Moorland.
  4. Sorry to change the subject but wanted to share good news- heard today did has an ENB final. Hope there is good news for other dd/ds's. Does anyone know how many girls roughly ENB take to finals and what the orthopaedic assessment involves? Thanks.
  5. Thanks I've booked did onto a course.
  6. Hi drdance- hope you got the pm I sent you yesterday. Thanks.
  7. Does anyone know if the London SAs have had their assessment yet?
  8. Sorry to hear it was a no. Is there a wait list?
  9. Oh forgot to ask - are the groups split by the level they are currently working at? Dd soon to do advanced 1 cecchetti. Thanks.
  10. Thanks drdance - do you offer any scholarships?
  11. Hi dr dance. Could you tell me what the cost of the sessions is please?
  12. Does anyone know who was on the panel today besides Marguerite Porter. DD didn't catch the lady's name.
  13. DD is an SA in Birmingham and yes they do wear soft blocks.
  14. Hi Sharry01 & MandyMc - my dd is in the current yr 8 at the Hammond and started last year. Welcome to you both. I believe there may be as many as 6 new girls and as there are currently only 6 yr 8 boarders that will make a big change. Dd is not on facebook but is on Skype if your dd's want to get in touch - please pm me if they do or if you have any questions. Look forward to meeting you. X
  15. Yes Hoobydigger - it is very sad to think that someone's dream may have ended but the ballet world is harsh I guess and is full of sadness as well as joy and as they say - as one door closes another opens. It may not be the case as they do have some bed flexibility for years 9 & 10. In answer to the Mids appraisal question Rachelballet - yes it is about 2 weeks after the appraisal which last year was at the beginning of May
  16. Hoobydigger - I thought the current year 8 already had 12 girls and if there are only 2 extra beds for year 9 does that mean that someone got assessed out. Well done to all those who got a yes - seems MA's have done well this year. To all the No's - don't give up - keep trying - that's all you can do.
  17. Thanks Dancingdaisy3 - Birmingham letters are out today - DD offered another year and only a week to reply but not had paperwork from vocational school yet so don't know what to do. Do you know if all the letters are just a standard template with the name changed to reflect the person they are being sent to? Was just curious as I saw one of the letters last year and it was different to the one DD just got?
  18. Hi Dancingdaisy3 - just out of interest as we live nearer to Manchester, which year of the Associates would your dd have been going into? My dd is currently a mid at Birmingham but no letters yet but then the assessment was only on Tuesday of this week. Not at all sure dd will be continuing as has been offered an MDS for a vocational school for September 2012 but just keeping options open at the moment. Does anyone know when the Bristol and London assessments were?

Well done to those with good news and commiserations to those who didn't get through. I really think there are less places this year. Good news in the Sniffymum household too though - need to do some busking now to cover the fees!!
  20. Hi Rowan - think you and I must have twins. My dd is 11 - only just over 1.4M and 4 1/2 stone but even though she is now at secondary school she can beat all the other 100+ girls in the bleep test and cross country. Guess its the disproportionately long legs combined with the stamina that does it. She too is pretty hopeless with a ball (unless its an exercise ball of course).

Hi Belleballerina - sorry to hear your dd did not get through this year. Tell her not to give up it on it and try next year. My dd did the 11 days at Tring last year as a year 6 JA as we live so far away and loved it. Hope to see you there next year and hope you find a summer school for this year. A friend's dd went to York Scholars last year and enjoyed it. From what I saw at final castings on Sunday there are less 'younger/smaller' ones this year but I believe there are very few parts suitable for this age group/size. Good luck to all those waiting on news of a part. Hopefully won't be long now.
  22. Hi Pups Mum - DD is 11 (12 at end of May). She's a Mid and made the Yr 8 final this year and therefore was not really expecting to get to Summer School again. DD was at SS last year when someone got offered a place for Yr 7 but have told her not to hold out any hope that the same might happen for Yr 8 as I guess the one place available went to one of the 4 in the final. Still, she loves it at WL and will enjoy the week on its own merits anyway. Well done to anyone who has had a call this week - something to look forward to.
  23. Hi - was just wondering if anyone had had an offer this week from the RBS for summer school, off the waitlist. Was surprised to get a call yesterday offering a place but DD was over the moon. Anyone else had good news?
  24. Hi HAIRBELLES welcome to the forum i realise who you are now would welcome a chat at some point.
