  1. Needles and scissors allowed (nail scissors) (but not ex India or Australia)
  2. I am researching the Variation "Satanella" .... I understand that it was originally staged by Mazilier @ Paris Opera as "La Diable Amoureux" on 21/9/1840. I am hoping that someone can lead me to where it was first performed as Satanella ,an authoritative source please rather than wikipedia. Many thanks for any ideas.
  3. I don't think that Vocational Schools would accept at 16 if they didn't feel there was a possibility of employment.
  4. I have 3 beautiful degas leotards (style 9502) rubi indigo and blanc. Bought for us auditions and hardly worn. Retail price is £43.99 . Available for £25 plus p&p. Style can be see in the just ballet website and I can send pictures via whatsapp All are size 0
  5. I have a selection of little worn leotards for sale - all size S/P (adult) wear moi /Bloch /Capezio - more MT than ballet. Black/white/teal/emerald/claret £10 each plus postage. Let me know your email if you would like photos.
  6. u It will be interesting to see because at present the DADA is awarded for the duration of the course (3 years) with no reassessment unless there is a declared income change. A possible administrative nightmare ahead for the schools involved and a smaller audition pool in years to come depending on the outcome of the brexit negotiations..... Keep calm and carry on
  7. Sorry I've gone off topic - mods please delete or move if appropriate .
  8. Post 16 education seems to be a minefield at the moment - more and more options springing up for training but unfortunately seemingly less and less jobs for graduates. I think it's really sad for our kids but also sad for the parents trying to fund the dreams with small prospects of a "living wage" at the end of it all. Training establishments have never had it so good imo or am I being cynical?
  9. Graduate destinations not printed in the programme
  10. I thought that there was a better mix of genre this year Aileen and the graduating 3rd years were allowed to shine in both classical and contemporary pieces Arctic/Shaker Loops and Raymonda Grand Pas Classique Act 3 - overall a very enjoyable evening with lots of talent on show from all years. The 1st year men are particularly strong and a joy to watch.
  11. Review from The British Theatre Guide https://t.co/GjsR82iNga
  12. I recall in my dim and distant memory, that when we were looking around the school those on the post grad were students that hadn't secured contracts in the previous year.
  13. Unfortunately Brits can only go to Australia if sponsored with an Arts and entertainment VISA unless lucky enough to have familial ties
  14. My daughter started vocational training at 16, of the 6 UK girls in her year group 4 were non vocational before US. (this is a london based school) 1 of these has chosen to leave and the remainder have progressed to the final year of training. 16 is definitely not too late if you have good local schools and associate schemes.
  15. Agreed Jazzpaws but as its a fairly new initiative even the schools won't have lots of knowledge - would be great to hear from anyone who went to this years Grand Audition
  16. Does anyone have experience of Grand Audition 2016? The website quotes that contracts were offered but doesn't expand on which companies/establishments. It was one day this year, 2 days next year. It is quite an expensive exercise (obviously cheaper than travelling to separate auditions) but I think we are a captive market - I would like to see the hard and fast data before parting with over €600 when flights and hotels are factored in. Interested in others thoughts ...
  17. I see that RBS have posted graduate destinations congratulations to all …. http://www.royalballetschool.org.uk/2016/06/7303/ Wondering if any of the other schools have posted yet? 18. Interesting to see that all aud Jebson Programme recruits are from RBS …. is this the norm or is it open to outsiders as well? Really excited for Joe Sissons and look forward to seeing his integration into the company.
