  1. It is there, as yumiko says above. After the list of performance dates with booking information there are three subheadings. Scroll to the third one 'Latest Cast details' and click on the date(s) required. This works for me in both Firefox and Chrome.
  2. This online feature about Mona Inglesby went live today as part of the Dance Passion season: https://canvas-story.bbcrewind.co.uk/sites/searchingformona/
  3. Jann Parry expresses some reservations about aspects of performances in the first night of this run: https://dancetabs.com/2019/04/royal-ballet-romeo-and-juliet-london-2/ I did not see this performance, and so I can't comment on it. But in principle the idea of playing Tybalt as sympathetic seems to me fundamentally in opposition to both MacMillan's and Shakespeare's intentions in the context of the themes explored. I'm interested to hear what others think, but given Jann Parry's expertise in writing about MacMillan's work I am surprised by her comment here.
  4. Agree - it's infuriating! Going from site entry to specific performance page using e.g venue filters as above needs ten clicks I think. It was just three clicks using the old website calendar...
  5. Try applying your chosen date(s) on calendar, and then choose Filters > Venue > Main Stage. This eliminates other venues for the chosen date(s). But still the old style calendar seemed far more efficient...
  6. For sale: RB Ballet Studio Live Rehearsal, Fri 10 May at 1.35pm. ROH, Paul Hamlyn Hall, Stage Level Row B, seat 48. Loose seat. £15.00. Please note that seats are not tiered. Also this seat is in a side block. This is on right hand side of performance area, as seen from audience perspective (assuming seating layout is as it was on Fri 15 March). This is a paper ticket. I will need to post it and request payment by bank transfer please.
  7. The Don Quixote performance page on the ROH website does not yet show this cast change (as at midday on Mon 25 March). Very grateful for Instagram!
  8. I am sad as I had booked for tonight's Don Q in part to see L Morera and R Hirano again. Maybe tonight's change of cast for the Mercedes/Espada partnership is the result of today's pre-general rehearsal of Romeo and Juliet, as mentioned by Beatriz Stix-Brunell in her (public) IG post:
  9. This was featured on Radio 4's Film Programme at the weekend, with some interesting comments about casting at 06:43 onwards. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/m0003cn5
  10. This now includes: Sound of Dance David Bintley BBC Radio 3 Sat 6 April 3pm https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m00040cm
  11. Thank you! My uncertainty about the status of Natalia Osipova's Instagram account was due to the profile here https://www.instagram.com/nataliaosipova86/ giving a link to this Twitter account https://mobile.twitter.com/NatOsipova which in turn gives a link to this Facebook page with the user name 'Natalia Osipova (fan)': https://m.facebook.com/nataliaosipovafan Anyway, I think I have strayed too far now from the main focus of this thread!
  12. I believe (though stand to be corrected on this) that all dancers who are currently members of the Royal Ballet company have IG accounts, except for Sarah Lamb, Laura Morera, Christina Arestis, Alastair Marriott and Romany Pajdak. However, not all accounts are public ones and some are inactive. Also the main one for Natalia Osipova seems to be a fan run account: https://www.instagram.com/nataliaosipova86/ The dancers' biography pages on the ROH website sometimes give social media links in 'Related links' at the end of each page. But these links are not consistently recorded across the various biography pages. In the case of Yasmine Naghdi (for example), the biography page gives links to both her Twitter and Instagram accounts: http://www.roh.org.uk/people/yasmine-naghdi
  13. I found these items from checking some BBC schedules (not all are new broadcasts though): Akram Khan’s Giselle English National Ballet BBC Four Sun 31 March 7pm https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0003vk6 Ballet's Dark Knight: Sir Kenneth MacMillan BBC Four Mon 1 April 3am https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b0b2gjbl Arena For Folk's Sake: Morris Dancing and Me BBC Four Mon 1 April 9pm https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0003vhz Can HipHop Save Ballet? Eric Underwood meets Michaela DePrince, Misty Copeland, Homer Bryant, Cassa Pancho and Cira Robinson. Other contributors include Luke Jennings, Precious Adams and Tyrone Singleton. BBC Radio 4 Thu 4 April 11.30am https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0003rjc In Tune Special edition celebrating the art of dance BBC Radio 3 Fri 5 April 5pm https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0003tn4
  14. Thanks very much Richatd LH for posting the links above.
  15. Also Akram Khan's Giselle, by English National Ballet: https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0003vk6
  16. I believe that the Ballet Association website gives a list of personal websites and Twitter accounts for RB and BRB dancers. However when I last checked the website links here (about two months ago) some led to defunct or inactive websites. Edited to add that I've just checked the BA page and see that it has been updated, giving links to just two dancers' own websites (Gary Avis and Olivia Cowley): http://www.balletassociation.co.uk/Pages/company.html
  17. This will include BBC broadcasts during the week Sun 31 March-Sat 6 April, with a live streaming day on Fri 5 April. https://www.bbc.co.uk/events/errz3d/live/c4rp5v
  18. Gary Avis has posted on his own website his dates for Tybalt and Lord Capulet. I presume from the recent live streamed insight event that Nehemiah Kish will also be cast as Tybalt.
  19. I think you get a list of ballet and dance related insight events if you select this combination of filters Event type - Ballet and dance Plus Venue - Clore Plus Venue - Linbury If you select Ballet and Dance only you get the list of all performances, rehearsals, insights and other events which are ballet or dance related. I would find it much easier to adapt to using the new website if only it allowed you to bookmark page views resulting from applying your chosen filters (as already mentioned by Richard LH, Geoff and others in this discussion). Many thanks to Richard LH for sharing earlier in this thread various cache view links (not sure if I'm using the correct term) for old style pages. I've found these extremely helpful.
  20. The filters do enable you to see for example, a list of all main stage ballet/dance productions and rehearsals in Summer 18/19. But I can't find a way to bookmark a page view resulting from applying your chosen filters. Has anyone else managed to do this? If it is impossible (as I assume), then you need to reapply relevant filters on every website visit. Very tiresome! As far as I can see, neither the calendar nor the selection of season specific filters will allow access to any information about past performances. This is disappointing, as sometimes it was useful to view past performance listings via the old calendar, to double check casting for example.
  21. This free event takes place in Oxford on Sat 16 March. 'DANSOX presents a one-day conference on the life and work of the great twentieth-century choreographer Sir Kenneth MacMillan (1929-1992)... The conference will discuss his work, the challenges of preserving the record, explore little known early work, his literary and musical choices, design, and choreographic method. Guest speakers include: the artist and widow of Sir Kenneth, Lady MacMillan; the former Principal and Director of the Royal Ballet, Dame Monica Mason; the music expert, Natalie Wheen; and choreologist, Anna Trevien. Dancers, artists, and filmmakers who worked with Kenneth will join the conversation. A performance/lecture of the reconstruction of Playground with Yorke Dance will be held...at the end of the conference.' https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/dansox-conference-on-kenneth-macmillan-making-dance-beyond-the-boundaries-tickets-54967163265
  22. Northern Ballet's Victoria will be discussed on Saturday Review next weekend, on Sat 16 March. It seens now a rare event for dance to be reviewed in broadcast media. https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/m0003ch8
