  1. Thanks, Sheila. On the other hand, that doesn't actually solve the problem I was asking about, which is that if you don't have a QR code reader you are stumped. That could easily be remedied by replacing one of the QR posters, of which there have been several per floor, in my experience, with a printed cast sheet.
  2. Welcome to the forum, Rachel. I hope you'll get some other useful information here.
  3. I must admit, I had originally assumed that "Scherzo Ensemble" might have been the name of the dance "company", unlikely as it seemed.
  4. BTW, can anyone confirm if ENB have yet started putting up an actual cast list, rather than just a QR code for it? #digitalexclusion
  5. IIRC, it was VERY last-minute, I was going to say for the cinema broadcast only, but I'm trying to remember whether Cuthbertson did the previous show. I don't think she did, but did someone else cover? Actually, I think she did pull out, but hoped to be back for the cinema, but wasn't. I'm sure someone with a better memory than me will confirm.
  6. As was the one Ross Stretton introduced at the Royal Ballet around the turn of the century, and which was recorded.
  7. I think the point of the original poster (capybara?) was that the double-doubles, while virtuosic, were used to express Siegfried's joy or whatever at having found the woman he loved, as he thought.
  8. Oh good, thanks, Anna - I'd been hoping they would leave it up for a while, but couldn't see anything to confirm that.
  9. Here's something which might be of interest: https://www.sjss.org.uk/events/scherzo-ensemble
  10. I thought it had been encouraged? Can't remember what I picked that up from, though.
  11. I suspect it probably is, too. Is it linked to dancers taking curtain calls "in character"? Anyway, as long as it's "good-hearted" I don't suppose it matters much - it's still a compliment.
  12. I certainly thought that what we saw in "Carlos at 50" was a distinct improvement on the RB performances, and that perhaps it will just suit his own company better. Plus it's about twice as long as the original version, so who knows? Still can't decide whether to go and see it, though, so I'd better make up my mind fast.
  13. Plenty of seating, but not of tables. Or power sockets. (Or even WiFi) Both should have been provided on trains where your journey could easily be of several hours.
  14. Oh, really? When that happened to me in August 2021 it was rather better organised - railway staff were arranging taxis from the London terminus. Once word got round, I imagine there were a lot of black cabs drawing up - one guy got a fare from London to Lewes or somewhere!
  15. Never mind, Dawnstar - at least they're on-topic
  16. Bumping this, because I've just discovered that there are a whole load of Kafka-related events going on in Oxford this year as part of the centenary of his death: https://www.ox.ac.uk/news/2024-03-04-oxford-kafka-2024
  17. Hadn't realised until I saw it on the train indicators today that that's a lot of the local London train providers on strike the same day as the London tube. That is going to be horrendous.
  18. PS: I notice they will also be broadcasting Massenet's opera Don Quichotte later on in the season. Potential for confusion there!
