I was hurrying to do my earlier post and get into the Coliseum for tonight's Le Corsaire, so let's clarify: the engineering works appear to be on the London-Southampton route.  There are of course other rail routes to Southampton: I don't automatically think that the whole country revolves around London :)

Yes, they're quite long-term engineering works - every late-night for a couple of months, I think?  I remember taking note of an information announcement to that effect while waiting for a train at Hook station after visiting my sister a couple of weeks ago, and thanking goodness I didn't have tickets for anything at the Mayflower at the moment...

Having looked into this in a bit more detail, there are no engineering works on the Fri and Sat. My guess is that it's Mon-Thurs only or something, because after all, who on earth might want to go out in London on a weekday evening? ;)

 

Just a shame that it screws up the one performance I might bother going down there for. Although at nearly £40 for a day return perhaps I won't bother anyway.
