  1. It looks more like an advert or something along those lines!! Ax
  2. Hi i think the MA results come out after the white lodge final results I am sure someone on here will be able to clarify re speed of which results come out for mids. I do know that you can audition in one centre for JA's and tick the box to attend another centre. Maybe best to email Royal Ballet admin office. Good luck Ax
  3. My daughters and i have just digested another sampling of ROH live link of swan lake, marvellous, we tried another cinema this time and again perfect viewing, not as much close up shots but still closer than if we were there watching at the ROH. Romeo and juliet was fabulous this was different and again brilliant, totally enthralled. Again cinema mainly empty which is great!! like ann somerset great to read the tweets from around the world and also interviews totally inspiring for my daughter whose dream is to become a ballerina!! AX
  4. Hi if you go on the main RAD website they run the same scholarship opportunities in other regions as well. Ax
  5. Hi I am sorry to hear of your daughters plight. I am aware that independant schools do tend to use guardianship agencies.for some of their boarders who maybe from another country. I will pm you. Ax
  6. My parents found storage locally where we live through an advert in a local spar shop for a local farm that had set a field up with security to house motorhomes and caravans. Maybe on your visit it might be worth looking for storage through these kind of means. Have you googled storage as well in the area? There are companies who do specialise in storage of motorhomes etc. Good luck for this amazing journey. Please keep us updated!! AX
  7. We used Clinkards I think they are scattered all over the country and tend to have a good selection of varying brands and choice and will measure feet, there is also House of fraser and Kicker shoes are always quite well made and trendy. Good luck Ax
  8. Well done miss pointe, if you ask some of your adult members for feedback I am sure you will get some very positive feedback as to their enjoyment and I suppose once you find out what they need in terms of a dance class you will accommodate them beautifully!! Good luck with your new venture, its very exciting!! Ax
  9. I contacted Ben as ours hadnt arrived, if you have his email he may be able to enlighten you, they maybe busy as EYB seem to do performances every 4 weeks looking at their schedules. Ax
  10. I agree taxiballet. I became quite fond of the large group I tended to be with the most. I felt very proud of them when they were on stage and the costumes are beautiful too. Ax
  11. I would say start as you mean to go on as they normally invite local schools to watch the first matinee if this is what they are doing at your theatre. Ax
  12. I chaperoned up at Newcastle it was my first time and it was such a great experience!! There is a rota that will tell you what group of children you are looking after at each performance then you are responsible for ensuring they reach the stage in adequate time and also keeping them quiet in the wings as they are normally quite excited before and during performances. Also keeping them out of the flight path of the principal dancers as they are coming on and off the stage. Ben and Dominic are always on hand to help and answer any questions. You will find that as the performances go on the children and chaperones become quite adept at knowing when they need to be on and off the stage. In terms of food I tended to take favourite sarnies and plenty of snacks (not sugary ones)!! for myself and DD. Plenty of water or soft drinks. If you are chaperoning over 2 performances your break tends to be with the children as they dont leave the building and they cant be left on their own. I remember getting a break when I had been doing a matinee then I was watching the evening performance. You will have a ball, it is tiring but I really enjoyed helping the children with make up hair and clothes and it was great fun seeing everyone having such an enjoyable time. Good luck Ax
  13. Some of the hairdressing suppliers even though they sell to trade some also have retail websites where it may work out cheaper. If you are friendly with your hairdresser they maybe able to get you a large supply on their next visit or delivery to their suppliers. Good luck Ax
  14. I taught fitness classes for years to adults and as mentioned above not only do adults like fun and keeping fit and healthy one of the main things that stood out for me was the social aspect as Anjuli also mentioned. It was the one evening or morning that some people who may not have a wide social network of friends were able to come and actually make new friends and acquaintances. It was lovely to see regulars welcome newcomers as some adults like children can be apprehensive about stepping foot into a class of any sorts. We also used to sometimes have evenings out and visited the theatre to see a ballet or musical depending on what was touring at the time and with group bookings there is always a discount! Good luck with your market research! Ax
  15. How about those away day presents that you can buy....hot air balloon rides etc for her and one of her friends maybe. They sell them in lots of various places such as department stores, garages. Ax
  16. I suppose if they were planning on providing large marquees in the grounds rather than letting people trundle through the lovely sprung floor studios in heels maybe a safer solution so still providing the ambience of the park for weddings and functions. Ax
  17. Hi good idea re size 1! The suppliers are okay re exchanging as I orginially ordered a size 0 and returned for size 1. Probably best to call them maybe quicker. I just stitched the seams by turning inside out and using white thread and needle stitched by hand a normal stitch about an inch in on each side following the line of the leotard, it just lies beside seams when turned the right way round. Looks okay now. Ax
  18. Hi Eloise_please Lol!! Thats how tall she was last year starting in year 4!! Yes she is tall for her age even taller now going into year 5!! I would offer you her size 1 but in comparison to the new ones it looks quite worn so wouldnt even give it away now! I have just stitched the sides of her new leotard and it fits quite nicely now. Good luck with your year 6 it will be an exciting time for you and your DD!! Ax
  19. The size 1 maybe better for your daughter. My DD was 135cm last September when she started and the size 1 fit nicely. I have just ordered the size 2 as the size 1 was getting too short on the body for her and there appears to be a big difference in size. I think we will have to take it in at the seams as it is quite wide!! Ax
  20. I used the iron on wonder web stuff to take my DD's hem up, it has stayed up a full year now and I know if she needs it taking down if and when she grows I can just replace it. Ax
  21. Good luck for your results, I think sometimes if you try not to think and replay it in your head it does help as you cant change what you have already done, sometimes we can be more critical about ourselves and may not be as objective when replaying what has happened. Maybe best to wait until you get your results then reflect then as you will then know where you gained or lost marks. Ax
  22. Hi as charlie said dd's were at Newcastle and had a really lovely time, it was a dream come true for my dd as she always used to dance the royal ballet version of the cygnet dance on you tube so when she danced a cygnet with eyb it was definitely the icing on the cake for her. Ax
  23. I wouldnt worry my dd had to visit the dentist after her filling came out bless and also missed a day! At least its early on and she will catch up, one of the many factors your dd got in was due to the fact she may pick up dances quickly amongst other talents she may have displayed at the audition! Its understandable she will worry my dd did too. Ax
  24. Well done to your DDand congratulations!! My DD thoroughly enjoyed her time with your DD at Swan Lake and good luck for her entry into Hammond!! Ax
