  1. I was in C for The Dante Project. I had an excellent view and saw both feet and facial expressions up close (I am really short, at 5ft 1). However, I had a child sitting in front of me - yes, someone shorter than me! So that worked out brilliantly. I have sat in B, (too close to see some of the footwork but good views of the stage and facial expressions), D (fine), E, F, H, M, P and V. I like all the rest and it would depend on what sort of distance I want for the ballets being performed. If I get someone taller in front of me, I sit on my coat, but I really have been lucky so far and have always had a good view. I will probably have jinxed myself now I've said that!
  2. Oh no! I hope you recover soon and am so sorry you have had to cancel. I feel your pain, having previously not been able to attend an insight recently because of a cough. I too, would be mortified to cough and ruin others' experiences - and it also makes me feel really ill not coughing when I need to. I can't wait to read all the reviews! Most exciting!
  3. Sorry. In my excitement this morning I didn’t think to add RB 😳
  4. I just saw on Instagram, from Sae Maeda, that she and Isabella Gasparini are Siegfried's sisters and Luca Acri Benno on opening night in this run of Swan Lake. As a huge fan of this ballet, I am very excited to see some of the casts!
  5. Yes. Though I have had offers for ballets where I have booked other performances. As I buy stalls tickets, I suppose they think I might buy on impulse, which, to be fair, is often true. 😳 (Divorce could be in my near future! 😱🤭)
  6. I have had offers - though I get a lot more for opera performances, which, even with 40% off of the original ticket value, are still very, very expensive (compared to my stalls ballet tickets). Though I do like opera, ballet is my passion and I choose to spend my money on that.
  7. I’m sorry to hear this. I too suffer from aura migraines and know how disorientating and debilitating they are. I hope you enjoy Friday’s performance and that it will help to compensate for yesterday’s one that was ruined. I am really looking forward to Friday!
  8. I am sorry too - have only just found this out. I have tickets for 15th and 28th. I am not going to say anything else other than I am sorry, as I loved Lauren in the last run - she was amazing. I am, erm, somewhat pleased (yes, I think everyone knows how I feel) that she is being replaced by such a wonderful dancer as Fumi ❤️ I wish Lauren all the best 🥰
  9. I was able to get a ticket to 8th last night - I'd almost given up hope. I wanted to see Hayward anyway but hadn't been able to for various reasons and am very fond of Campbell, so am so pleased to be able to see his DG.
  10. Thank you @Dawnstar - what a brilliant and comprehensive review! I really enjoyed reading your thoughts The photo is great (courtesy of @Rob S) and David Donnelly looks really pleased with his lovely flowers! What a thrill to have a photo of him with them!
  11. I feel your pain. I'm worried about which dates to book (if I can can the tickets I want). I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed!
  12. Totally agree with this. When I looked at all the scheduled performances that will be going on at the time, I can see why casting must be a nightmare. I also thought, yes, that's true but someone had to schedule and approve the performances in the first place and surely they considered how challenging casting would be?
  13. I'd take a glass of free champagne any time! 🤣 For me, as I'm sure it is for some others, it's more about seeing the cast I want so I don't have the hassle (and potentially not the seats I want) or rebooking while financially losing out. Alas, I cannot book to see every performance and that booking period is pretty chaotic and fitting it in around real life and commitments I already have is tricky enough. I do not solely support ROH so I can book early - I take that as a bonus. I did it after Covid to support them and will continue to do so even if I have the odd gripe about booking or casting.
  14. I am so sorry to hear this, Lin. You have been so unlucky recently. I hope you feel better soon and can get a ticket for 8th. Exciting! I can't wait to hear about the debuts. I like Donnelly and Boswell and am so interested to know how they do (and the other dancers in the main roles, of course). Enjoy! This made me giggle! This also made me giggle!
  15. Without going too off topic, I’m one of the few people who don’t mind the costumes. 🤣
  16. I listened to that fantastic podcast too (it was just brilliant). I have to say that the Bracewell/Ball pairing in Corybantic Games was stunning and I loved watching them dance together, so I think a male/male love story would be great!
  17. 🤣 I think that could be potentially disastrous! I feel your pain, as I am the one of those William fans! I thought I was being clever for the MacMillan but have had to book more tickets - what a shame! 🤣
  18. Yes. It is interesting that new works are generally do not appear to be created on him. Though there may be ones I don’t know about. I love looking at the different pairings as each bring something unique to the table - even if I don’t like certain aspects of the characterisations, I still love watching them. I also love reading the different opinions voiced here - they always give me food for thought.
