Apparently, I have train issues on my line. So, not stressful at all! 😱 -

If they're anything like the 'fanouettes' from Don Q - I know I'm in for a treat! -
Royal Ballet - Swan Lake 2024

William Bracewell has posted a lovely video of Fumi Kaneko rehearsing Odette/Odile on his Instagram account. I have to say, having only seen her in a rehearsal video with Bonelli, that she looks amazing and I can't wait to see Fumi dance these roles (I've seen William Bracewell dance Siegfried many times and know already that I will love him in this role). I am so excited to see Fumi's interpretation of the white and black swans - to see her dancing in a partnership I adore is something I didn't think I'd see this run - so I am feeling very, very fortunate. Fingers crossed all goes to plan tonight and that there are no travel issues! -

Manon, Royal Ballet Winter 2024

I agree. The performances touched me deeply and I can pick out bits from each different interpretation that I loved. Because the nuances were often slightly different, I am not sure I can choose between them. Even if there were some little things that I didn't love as much in comparison to other performances, there was always something else I loved to counterbalance that. I loved seeing the dancers different interpretations and connections with each other. I thought the debutants did such an amazing job and the non-debutants brought different interpretations to the roles they were revisiting, so they were fresh and exciting. The standard was so high from the Principal dancers, particularly, that I am in awe of them. What a brilliant run. The RB at their best.- 996 replies

This made me giggle! 😈 -
I was in C for The Dante Project. I had an excellent view and saw both feet and facial expressions up close (I am really short, at 5ft 1). However, I had a child sitting in front of me - yes, someone shorter than me! So that worked out brilliantly. I have sat in B, (too close to see some of the footwork but good views of the stage and facial expressions), D (fine), E, F, H, M, P and V. I like all the rest and it would depend on what sort of distance I want for the ballets being performed. If I get someone taller in front of me, I sit on my coat, but I really have been lucky so far and have always had a good view. I will probably have jinxed myself now I've said that!

Oh no! I hope you recover soon and am so sorry you have had to cancel. I feel your pain, having previously not been able to attend an insight recently because of a cough. I too, would be mortified to cough and ruin others' experiences - and it also makes me feel really ill not coughing when I need to. I can't wait to read all the reviews! Most exciting! -

Sorry. In my excitement this morning I didn’t think to add RB 😳 -
I just saw on Instagram, from Sae Maeda, that she and Isabella Gasparini are Siegfried's sisters and Luca Acri Benno on opening night in this run of Swan Lake. As a huge fan of this ballet, I am very excited to see some of the casts!

Yes. Though I have had offers for ballets where I have booked other performances. As I buy stalls tickets, I suppose they think I might buy on impulse, which, to be fair, is often true. 😳 (Divorce could be in my near future! 😱🤭)
-
I have had offers - though I get a lot more for opera performances, which, even with 40% off of the original ticket value, are still very, very expensive (compared to my stalls ballet tickets). Though I do like opera, ballet is my passion and I choose to spend my money on that.

I’m sorry to hear this. I too suffer from aura migraines and know how disorientating and debilitating they are. I hope you enjoy Friday’s performance and that it will help to compensate for yesterday’s one that was ruined. I am really looking forward to Friday!- 996 replies

RB Casting - SPRING BOOKING PERIOD 2024

I am sorry too - have only just found this out. I have tickets for 15th and 28th. I am not going to say anything else other than I am sorry, as I loved Lauren in the last run - she was amazing. I am, erm, somewhat pleased (yes, I think everyone knows how I feel) that she is being replaced by such a wonderful dancer as Fumi ❤️ I wish Lauren all the best 🥰- 151 replies

I was able to get a ticket to 8th last night - I'd almost given up hope. I wanted to see Hayward anyway but hadn't been able to for various reasons and am very fond of Campbell, so am so pleased to be able to see his DG.

ROH booking discussion - summer 2024
Linnzi5 replied to Blossom's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
I feel your pain. I'm worried about which dates to book (if I can can the tickets I want). I have a feeling I'm going to be disappointed! -
Totally agree with this. When I looked at all the scheduled performances that will be going on at the time, I can see why casting must be a nightmare. I also thought, yes, that's true but someone had to schedule and approve the performances in the first place and surely they considered how challenging casting would be?
