  1. Yes email here today also! Other forms returned already.
  2. Congratulations to your DD Gazelle, am full of admiration for her determination and drive. Hope it sees her well in the future. Wish my DD could take a leaf out of her book.
  3. CAT schemes do, and also I think London Studio Centre and David Stinson.
  4. David Dtinson seem to do classes in London every Sunday and to assess candidates in classes most weeks. Think there is a public audition also in July.
  5. Just wondered how important it is for a DC to cover Contemporary dance during their training. DD is Year 10 and wants a career in dance, probably from 18. Her small local dance school do not cover contemporary, and neither does her associate course on a regular basis. We are currently covering different associate courses which cover Contemporary as well as ballet or instead of. If she has been successful in their auditions it will be a difficult call to decide where she should focus, especially with her GCSE year approaching and probably exams in Tap and Advanced 1 Ballet next term. Just wondering if it will hamper her in auditions at 18 if most auditionees have done regular Contemporary lessons.
  6. Thanks for support. They were told four weeks which seems quite a while. DD found it ok anyway, and everyone at LSC was friendly. Good luck with the Modern to your DD Katymac. Interesting to have a physio assessment at the end.
  7. Thanks very much for the good wishes, not much idea what to expect or how competitive it will be but should be a good experience. Katymac good luck to your DD and her friend today also.
  8. Any tips for the audition? What sort of levels is the dancing, are they split into groups? Have certainly been impressed with how they answer emails which is great. Do you know what prior experience they would expect, DD has done lots of ballet but not much of the others! Many thanks, really appreciate your opinion.
  9. Katymac, any chance you could give us an opinion etc re Lonoon studio centre associate? DD has audition there tomorrow?
  10. We are trying out and auditioning for different options for DD who will be Year 11 next year. Any ideas of the respective merits of Tring CBA, London Studio Centre, London Senior Ballet and Stinson Academy? Bit of a decision progress and want to try to do the best. Thanks.
  11. Hi that's interesting to know thanks. Like the idea of possibility of through to 18. Thanks
  12. Letter came and with good news of a move to next class. This came with a score of 75. Does anyone know as it's DD's first year there, what age does the CBA go up to, is it 16 or 18? Been a bit worrying as she lost her place at Central associates, so really pleased about this.
  13. I would be very interested in this also.
  14. Wonder where DD's is then! Another day of wondering!
  15. Is that by post. No sign of one for DD! Bad sign?
  16. DD went for private lesson today, with one of Natalia's teachers. She felt that she was corrected for a lot of what she did, even when it was how she'd been shown to do it previously. For example, in fifth, she was told to have the front foot completely parallel to the back foot. Apparently at associates they were told only to do that if it was completely comfortable, and so on with other positions etc. I am looking for options to supplement her local training. Would this arise from the teachers there being Russian so have different methods? In that case could it be detrimental to DD to be exposed to this at 15?
  17. Yes ages can be funny! My DD is year 10 aged 15 in January and yet does festivals in the age 14, yet her friend born in December does the 15+ like you. Not looking forward to joining that group as you say it covers such a massive spread of ages. Don't know why they can't still separate the years. Discouraging for the younger end as very hard to be placed! We have also met the Lyrical in modern and often they do better as you seem to be able to put more into a Lyrical dance.
  18. Has anyone who's doing Senior course heard anymore than initial Yes and request for deposit? Not sure when to expect to hear more! Also does anyone know more about the course such as numbers, classes etc. New experience for DD to do residential as she's quite shy.
  19. Has anyone done a private lesson through this dance I school? We were wondering if regular private lessons there could be helpful. Thought this could help to plan convenient dates in DDs GCSE year.
  20. Have paid deposit for senior course after receiving the initial Yes. Any ideas when we hear more? DD very excited about!
  21. Thanks that's good to hear. Expect they'll tell them more on Sunday when they return.
  22. Any ideas how soon the letter comes? Have just been through assessment elsewhere which led to worse case scenario after a five week wait! A second dose would be very traumatic.
  23. Apologies if this has been covered in a previous thread! My DD is just entering her third term at CBA and we have as assessment looming on 11th may. DD is wanting to know more about this, so would be very interested to hear anyone's experiences. Is it largely a question of deciding who to move up? Are any DCs exited, and if so does anyone know on what grounds. Thanks.
  24. My DD did two days of dance Forward at Easter, and they are talking about doing a course at half term according to an email we've subsequently received. At Easter there were two days of ballet! and one of other, not sure what form this will take. You could maybe like their Facebook page then you might receive updates. DF was for age 12 and upwards.
  25. We are obviously very spoilt. DD's current dance teacher sews them personally and for no fee. Doesn't like suede patches. Did the ribbon in with this also.
