  1. I was being more optimistic and wondering if it could be as soon as this Wednesday afternoon! We heard on the following Weds afternoon about finals, and casting is a week Sunday…
  2. Hope finals went well for everyone? My 9 year old had a thoroughly nice time and really enjoyed it. 😊 And so the waiting commences! Are we thinking end of next week and by email??
  3. I think that around 1000 children auditioned for LCB this year (they mentioned there would be up to 350 per day over 3 days) for 98 places - 50 in the main company and 48 the touring. So I’m v proud that my daughter even made finals! There is the National Youth Ballet which usually runs a summer residential followed by performances, although this year they did a London based course with a video performance (which was excellent!) There is also English Youth Ballet which is less competitive to get into (I think usually about half of the children auditioning get places) - it looks like they’re doing a performance in Richmond next summer. Hope that helps!
  4. Realised there isn’t a thread for next year’s LCB performance so thought I’d start one! My 9 year old (auditioning in 10 year old group as turns 10 at the end of this month) is through to finals on 21st November, hoping to find other parents who I can obsessively check emails with for the results. 😬 I know there is one more round of auditions to go this weekend too…

  6. Hi, can I go for the viola please?
  7. Congratulations @DancingShoes! Should have said, my DD is 9 and will be attending the junior course.
  8. Absolutely thrilled that my daughter has just been offered a place on this! Anyone else going?
  9. @KitKat23- yes my daughter does do repertoire and has really enjoyed it. It was mainly because we have quite a journey so thought it would make the trip more worthwhile. Not that many of the level 1 children did do it - only a handful of them and all the juniors are in together. My DD found the steps challenging but doable.
  10. That’s so lovely to hear and I’m sure she’ll love LJB. Hopefully see you at some point in September - if you have any questions do just let me know, although our first year hasn’t exactly been typical!
  11. Congratulations @KitKat23 - what great news! My daughter’s friend also made it too .
  12. Does anyone else have children who have successfully auditioned for the November EYB performance of the Nutcracker? My nine year old found out that she has a place on Tuesday afternoon (she’s very excited) but all of her friends are still waiting to hear...
  13. My daughter’s friend auditioned and I don’t think she has heard yet. Last year we heard the same day as the auditions so it is obviously a bit different this time. Fingers crossed you get good news soon!
  14. I’d also really recommend London Junior Ballet - my 9 year old has had a lovely year with them, despite most of it being online. Happy to discuss if you have any questions.
  15. Just been informed that the course has been cancelled. No surprise there. Does anyone know of an online course running that week? 6th- 9th.
  16. Would highly recommend London Junior Ballet Associates - my DD9 has has a fantastic first year with them and they’ve offered great lockdown provision. Auditions in May and September: https://www.ljb.org.uk/auditions
  17. I had an email last night to say that they were still liaising with Uppingham School as to whether it could run or not and they’d let us know ASAP.
  18. Hi @Emmajayne - Olivia emailed this evening and said that they would try to let us know on Monday. Hope that helps!
  19. @Spamcat - which EYB is your daughter doing? Mine is doing Swan Lake in Bromley in July (rescheduled from last summer) and also wants to audition for Nutcracker in Crawley in November!
  20. Thanks for your reply @Raquelle- I also emailed Malvern and have already received a lovely reassuring response. I’ve signed her up! Anyone else going?
  21. I know this is a bit of an old thread but looking at the Easter course with boarding for my 9 year old. She’s not been away from home on her own for more than a night before, do many children of her age board? Thanks!
  22. It is in term time, and the sessions will be 6-10pm as they are New York time. We’re planning on my daughter having a lie-in and going into school late while she’s doing it, our school have previously been pretty flexible so hoping that will be ok! The other dates clashed with the summer school in Tring that we’ve already signed up to - really hope that goes ahead!
