  1. As you mentioned you went to covent garden I would recommend looking in Dancia as they have many brands and found the perfect pair of canvas ballet shoes for my DD!!
  2. Also to boost your Dd's confidence if she would like to then I would recommend auditioning for LCB or EYB as if she were to get in they focus lots on performing which should boost her confidence with more experience.
  3. What associate scheme does she do as some schemes like you to leave at a certain time- especially not in the middle of the term?. If your DD isn't gaining confidence/ enjoying herself there then I think you should look into another associate class as some do audition in November for the Xmas term eg. Tring.
  4. My sister is a teacher and teaches an Ian who is 5 and everyone is shocks that he is called Ian and he isn't an old man????
  5. Yes she is meant to do the competition in March (I think) and you have to be under 13- which Dd is- so she isn't too old. DD goes back in Sept so will talk to her teacher about it after her first class!
  6. We have only recently found out about Tring so I have quite a few!! How many audition each year for how many spaces? What age do they start pointe classes? How much are fees each term? Is this standard high? Is it hard to get in to? What do they look for in a dancer? What age do they accept from? Is it better to audition in November or April(I think it's April)? What grade would they expect a 12 y/o girl to be? Is it good training? How long do classes go on for? How many students are in each class? Is it too late to apply for the November audition at the start of November(as if she gets into LCB then she will not be able to do it as it clashes)?
  7. Yes I have Janet. Would anyone be able to answer some questions I have about Tring CBA??
  8. Glad it's only every other Sunday as dd already dances All day on Saturday!! Do you know much about Tring CBA as I have some questions to ask as I have no idea how the scheme works except for the info on their website????
  9. We have just looked at the other associates you mentioned as we live in South East London and DD likes the sound of Tring.
  10. We are emailing her today about RAD associates as DDs school has a break in the holidays so she won't see her in person. So I will look into others too!!
  11. Dd would do anything to have a job in later life related to dance in any way (especially ballet) and she tries to look for new things to do eg. Summer schools and master classes. I'm quite new to associates though!DD goes to her local dance school which is held in a church nearby - nothing too special!!- and her teacher hasn't suggested anything to her about associates but DD is really keen to do some. So we have signed up to RAD associates but she may not get a place! Should DD do associates anyway/audition for some? Can she attend them if her teacher hasn't signed her up to them?
  12. She will be doing G4 in at around Easter / summer next year.
  13. She does grade 4+ Level 5 already so she isn't being held back and no it isn't compulsory for her to take it though it is to do the competition her and her teacher wanted her to do
  14. DD is 12 and was meant to take her ISTD grade 3 ballet exam last Christmas however she was ill on the day and couldn't take it. At Easter she couldn't take it as she was doing a. competition on the same day and she couldn't do it this summer as we were on holiday. She really wants to do it this Xmas as she thinks she will do well- and so does her teacher. She also would need to take it to do a competition she and her teacher wanted her to do. The problem is her teacher hasn't really mentioned anything about her doing it and she hasn't told her that she will be doing that class next term so she can prepare to do her exam at Xmas. So is it worth taking the exam or not??
  15. DD's friend does Centrals associate scheme and she is 12 so it definitely takes from 12+ (not sure whether they take younger though as I don't think they have any info about associates on their website
  16. Hi was just looking at LCBs Twitter page and it says Jenna Lee is choreographing their upcoming show little lord flaunturoy (sorry if I spelt that wrong) is this the same Jenna Lee??
  17. Also a good luck to all the people taking GCSEs for Thursday!
  18. Yes her teacher says she will most likely go on at grade 5 and she is in grade 4 and level 5 now so hopefully she will have just started pointe. She is in year 7 , going into year 8 in September but has a late(ish) bday - May.
  19. What ages of children can go to Opes Summer course??
