  1. Agree with you all, the waiting is so painful! I don't think there is anymore to say other than that, haha! Here's hoping we're all put out of our misery soon.....
  2. RBS always send results out via email. It's great because you don't have to worry if you're out and miss the post. We haven't had our audition yet (this Weds), but I think it was exactly 2 weeks last year.
  3. Such a happy girl! I've sent you a message - I think we may have met!
  4. Our girls were probably in the same class then Mom2dancingkenz! What a fantastic attitude your DD has, she will go far with an outlook like that for sure!
  5. Thanks amos73. Yes, Y8 for us. They said 10 days - 2 weeks today, but I'm sure it was exactly a week last year. And one of DDs friends found out in a week when she auditioned before Christmas. So fingers crossed it's not 2! Good luck to your DD too!
  6. That's Elmhurst prelim done. Was so nice to be back there, and see some of DDs friends in their class too. DD made me feel quite emotional with pride when watching at the end. Now the wait.....hopefully no more than a week.
  7. Congrats Lema and Straceydor! Mom2dancingkenz - I also know of somebody who didn't get through RB prelims (and she was a JA), to then secure a place at Elmhurst. You never know what's going to happen. Good luck with Elmhurst.
  8. Hi everyone, I've not been on here for a while, but found this forum so beneficial when my DD was going through Y7 auditions last year. So nice to read the successes of all the DC so far this year...I can remember the stress, I never realised how hard a process it would be! A year on and my DD has settled into her RBS MA classes and about to start the Y8 audition process (our first one is Elmhurst next Thursday). Personally, I'm feeling far more relaxed this year, maybe because I know Y8 places are very few and therefore feel this year is about racking up experience, or maybe because I've been there already and know there is life after the Y7 process! Good luck to everyone!
  9. I'm not sure you've been given accurate information balletqueen. Did you receive a welcome pack from RBS? My DD started MAs last week and we received a handbook back in June. The handbook states that assessments take place and you are offered a place for a further year if the assessment is satisfactory - application forms are not required. I hope that helps, I'm sure it's the same for all MAs wherever you attend the classes.
  10. Went very well thank you, DD came out sweating, haha! And the bow looked fab!
  11. Well I've nailed it, think it looks pretty good! Might put it in when we get there, see where others have put there's. Thanks all! x
  12. Thank you Piccolo. Wish me luck, haha!
  13. Help! Prob such a novice question, but my dd starts tomorrow and I've no idea what to do with the hair ribbon! Really worried I'm going to mess it up. Plus, does it go above, or below the bun? Any guidance appreciated!
  14. My dd got through to regionals. It was certainly experience! We were one of the first to arrive, but last but one group to be seen, it was a LONG day, which dd found quite tough going. She got a yes from one of her favourite dancers ever, but then 2 nos, so no national for her. She was happy with the yes she got though and was one of the youngest there, so it wasn't a massive surprise. Good luck to anyone who's gotten through to nationals.
  15. No, my DD will be at Birmingham from Sept. We know someone in JAs there, and think they wear leather.
  16. Thank you abitwornout, that's good to know.
  17. Thank you. Even if she is the only one in her class, I'm sure she won't be the first to have started MAs not yet on pointe, so it won't be unusual, and she'll progress and catch up when she's ready to.
  18. Does anyone know how important it is (or even how left out my DD may feel) by not being on pointe yet? I know 11 is still relatively young for pointe, and I'm sure I read somewhere (but can't remember where) that they don't even have pointe lessons at White Lodge until age 13. I think the plan is for my DD to start pointe after Christmas, and I'm keen for her to make that move when it's right and not to rush it, I'm just hoping this won't hold her back or make her feel inadequate when she starts MAs in September.
  19. After the full time no's, my DD has had a fab couple of days at a festival winning gold for her ballet solo, gold for her modern duet, 1st place in the TDCI junior ballet championships...and now a yes for MAs at Birmingham!!! Such a fab couple of days, just the festival champions to go tomorrow...the girl is on fire!! I'm so happy and proud! Congrats to the other yes's, and fingers crossed to those on the waiting list.
  20. DD was fine with the news, said "oh, come on!", then started to jump up and down with the realisation she'll be going to the local secondary schools with all her friends! She does make me laugh...far more resilient then I give her credit for!
  21. Wrt BBO scholars, it's just as picturesinthefirelight has explained. DD is a Birmingham Elmhurst associate and all I know, from emails sent earlier in the year, is they offer RAD classes on a Sat from Y7. Don't know any other details apart from that.
  22. Thanks all, and many congratulations Twoballerinas!
  23. Thanks Tulip. I am so relieved I get to keep her, I must admit! She's an Elmhurst associate currently, but that will be coming to an end soon, but we may look at their RAD classes. She's also a BBO mid-scholar, so lots of things going on still. I may have a look around at other schemes, especially as it sounds the RBS MAs is hard to get, so I'm expecting a no there too. After the initial disappointment I think she'll be fine, and it means she can audition for panto again this, something she loved being part of last year!
