  1. My DD had Y7 WL finals, wasn't offered a WL place, but was then offered MAs. You'd think it would get them a better chance, but I wouldn't like to say for sure, you can send yourself mad trying to analyse it all!
  2. Not at all! I personally know 3 people who didn't get finals but got offered an MA place, with 1 of them being on the waiting list first. Continue to be optimistic, it definitely does happen.
  3. DD has just received an offer of a place at Hammond! Just Elmhurst finals to go now..... 🤞🏼
  4. No for my DD for y10 WL (we were Birmingham audition). It's what we had expected, so I know DD won't be too disappointed, and we've Elmhurst finals in March, so will continue to focus on that. 😊
  5. Congrats to everyone who received a yes yesterday, and commiserations to those who received a 'not this time', keep going, it's not the end of the road by far. Good luck to everyone waiting to hear today! 🤞🏼
  6. Amazing! Congrats mumofaboy! Exciting to know they've started coming out, good luck everyone!
  7. We were told at the Birmingham auditions last week that they were aiming for this week (next week at the latest).
  8. Thank you NicolaP17. RBS give results by email, so no waiting around for the postman, just the constant refresh of your inbox - I'm not sure which is worse, haha! I hope you hear soon.
  9. DD has her RBS audition next Wednesday. She's in her last year of MAs so will be hoping for an SA place, should a full time vocational place not come her way. In case you weren't aware, you won't find out about MAs until Easter time, the first results will be for WL finals. My heart just melted when I was in my DDs bedroom and saw her lightbox has been changed to an Elmhurst finals countdown, and her dressing table had Elmhurst finals notes - what to remember, how to conduct herself, etc. So lovely to see how much she wants it (but also makes my heart ache because she's still a long way to go yet). I love reading everyone's updates, and keeping my fingers crossed for all those waiting on results.
  10. Elmhurst took 3 girls at year 10 last year.
  11. Yes, in hindsight, I'm glad she stayed at home and, if anything, it showed us how much she really does want this. She's older now, and her passion for ballet has just gotten stronger, and that will make it easier for us to let her go if she gained a place. Full time at year 7, 8, 9 or 10 isn't the only route. x
  12. That's amazing. She is doing so well and it just means it's not her time yet. Year 8 is a toughie, so just keep going, I truly believe the knock backs make them stronger and helps them determine how much they really want it. x
  13. Thank you, she did do well. She was offered an RBS MA place in the end, and also attends the Elmhurst EYD programme, and now going through the audition process again for year 10 entry. So far she's received a place on the waiting list for Tring and a finals audition for Elmhurst. It's an exciting and stressful time, particularly when they want it so much. I hope you get the Elmhurst pre-lim results soon - good luck! x
  14. When my DD auditioned for year 7 entry (3 years ago) I believe there were approx 40 girls for WL and 60 for Elmhurst finals.
  15. Good luck to everyone, I hope you hear soon. My DD auditioned in November and Elmhurst were very quick in getting back to us (6 days!), so I'm sure you'll hear very soon. x
  16. I was unaware of costs too. Only found out when talking to people I knew who did it last year. We had no chat during DDs audition so had no idea of wait involved, what it meant if you did/didn't get a call back, only thing we were told was regarding the dancers themselves to sign-in and collect a number to pin onto leotard. Also unaware about 2 apparent intensive days in October half term. All it said when applying was 'six intensive days between October and February'. The more time goes on, the less chance we'll be able to say yes even if DD gets a place. Half term is 2 weeks away, and DD has signed up to multiple dance events. It's a real shame not every audition slot got the same chat.
  17. I've just seen Elmhurst final auditions clash with Tring MDS funding auditions next March - if you're lucky enough to have both, that's going to cause an issue. Hopefully this will be noticed and one of the schools will change their date.
  18. Yes, there is nothing. But I have news - I emailed, and they replied saying not everyone will get a callback, it doesn't necessarily mean it's a no, and we will hear in the next 3 weeks.
  19. Or I'm wondering whether the call backs are to assess for the bigger roles, not necessarily mean they haven't got a space.....? Okay, too much analysing, haha! God help me when we enter full-time audition season!
