I would say that non syllabus classes are much more useful and valuable than exam work, as I think it better prepares you for auditions where you have to pick up combinations etc.

definitely depends what mood the examiner is in I think haha!! most tend to be easier than the syllabus work because there are more complicated steps in the syllabus that aren't in free work I think!

free work can be a nightmare in the exam if you don't get enough of them in class! my teacher is also one for springing surprises on us before the exam.... however in my experience in my inter foundation and intermediate exam the free enchainments i got were MUCH easier than i was expecting, we got given some really horrible ones in class so i guess that prepared me. if you can, get a list of all the focus steps so you can learn them all and get comfortable with different combos.

thank you i hope so too!! there's only 5 pointe work exercises plus the reverence, they all went fine except the releve exercise in the center, definitely need to work on those! the barre work is pretty easy, just rises in first, echappe releves to 4th, releve passes, pas de bourees and coupe foutte raccourci and then just temp lies and releves in the center, if you get enough practise at them you'll be absolutely fine once you get around to the exam.

the ISTD one is 'pre primary' I think which looks alright!

lots of snacks and water to keep her going! appropriate shoes, a change of clothes is always a good idea too! that's all I can actually think of...

I bought them because I needed them for my exam and didn't have a pair of pointe shoes to break down and I'm determined not to give up on them yet haha! how do I go about taking the box out?!

I didn't start pointe until I was about 14 in grade 8 and basically had to beg my teacher aha! DDs teacher will put her on when she's ready.

The main sites I use are Dance Direct, Move Dancewear and Porselli, they have all been really good in my experience!

Hiya, so I've had my Grishko soft pointes for about 2 months now, they're still pretty hard and very noisy. They get pretty hot when I'm wearing them obviously and when I go to put them back on, all the glue has like stiffened and gone really hard so I have to kind of manipulate them around to get my feet back in.. sometimes they end up with dents in the front of the shoe where I guess the glue has dried strangely? I'm not really sure if this makes much sense but does anyone else have a similar problem and is there any way to avoid it...? It's like I have to re-break in the shoes every time I put them on.

i don't go back now until about the second week of september so that will be the earliest i'll get the results! :/

I think I have to agree with miss Lewis about huge poofy buns!???? does anyone know how the casting is done for the bigger roles like do they select who they think would be suitable for it or is it 'if you want this role come and try this' situation?
