  1. Done! As to those commenting on life of pointe shoes, I've had my current pair since August 2013! Still going strong! But I do less than 1 hour a week.
  2. I don't know if this is a bit of a weird question but I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to strengthen my wrists? Whenever we do floor work on the hands in contemporary my wrists really hurt after a while. I also do Pilates and they hurt sometimes when we do exercises on the hands and knees. Any suggestions welcome thank you
  3. I thoroughly enjoyed it, loved them all! Thought Jacob was a very deserving winner he was outstanding, love his style.
  4. Is anyone else doing the NYDC workshops/audition this year? I've just applied eek! I went last year and it was great fun so<3
  5. I recieved an email with all the audition details last week, phew. quite excited!
  6. I've seen that before it's being shown quite a lot recently, great watch!
  7. Not sure if there's already a thread for this - couldn't seem to find it! was just wondering if anyone had applied for the Tring Classical Ballet Academy and heard anything back yet? Had an email at the beginning of this week saying info would be going out in a few days but not heard since...
  8. this is making my brain hurt I think I'm just going to forget about it...
  9. however yumigirls do get a free item with every order and it's free shipping as well as the discount so it does work out a bit cheaper...the starter fabric kit is £20 so a couple of orders and free leos later it would be worthwhile.
  10. taxi4ballet that didn't even cross my mind at all... but surely it's not self employed if I'm just a rep for the company?
  11. aballetlife - this is what I've been looking into although I've noticed a few discrepancies over whether or not yumigirls are allowed to sell over Instagram/Twitter etc
  12. reason I ask is I applied to be a YumiGirl yesterday not expecting anything to come of it but got an email back today so I'm just weighing up the pros and cons of going ahead with it.
  13. Loulabelle it's a made to order dancewear brand nased in the US, here's the website if you wanted to take a look http://store.yumiko-online.com/index-en.html
  14. Kat09 please could you drop me a PM? Picturesinthefirelight -may I ask what specifically you don't like about them?
  15. hiya I was just wondering if anyone on here was a yumi girl/guy or knows someone who is!
  16. opes looks pretty old too and I can just about afford that.... I'm on the fence between opes and Tring I think
  17. if anyone has any experience with the Tring intensive that's looking like the best value price wise at the moment!
  18. thank you everyone! the Dresden one looks really good and id love to go abroad but the price doesn't include accommodation so have a feeling that will get rather pricey ????
  19. Hello, I was just wondering if anyone could tell me some more information about the Tring summer course that has done it before as the website doesn't go into a lot of detail about what the course exactly entails? I've just worked out I can just about afford to go which is exciting but I don't want to splash that kind of money if it's not all that.. you know? Anyway, if anyone could just confirm what the days/standard is like and whether it's worth the money that would be great and if anyone has gone residential what's that like?
  20. I would really like to do a purely ballet intensive, I missed the deadline for ENBS (however it says that candidates should be advanced 1 level and i'm only advanced foundation so i don't think that would work), I've applied for Elmhurst though I've heard the chances of getting in are rather slim, and I can't do the BTUK one which I'm a bit gutted about.. any other suggestions from anyone would be great
  21. has anyone done the above course before that Janet has posted? It looks pretty good but am wondering if anyone has any specific experience of it.
  22. I was wondering if anyone had a intermediate or advanced foundation (new version) dvd?? I really want one but think £20 + postage is a bit extensive for something that will only be useful until I take the exam...
  23. all i can say is don't give up on CAT because it is a brilliant experience, and even if your first audition isn't successful that doesn't mean you won't be successful next time, it's worth the wait!
  24. this is so close to me but they always do the under 16 courses so that i can't go, very frustrating!
  25. Completed this today!! 6 hours dancing constantly is a LONG time! But it was brilliant fun and all for a good cause - did anyone manage to catch any of it on the red button?
