  1. I have a DD auditioning for a year 5 place in Birmingham (group 4). Seems like we’ve been preparing for this audition forever! Ready to get it over and done with now.
  2. Oh wow!!! Well done to your DD. Amazing news 😊
  3. Sure it will be ok! In fact I'm almost wishing I hadn't sent them having looked at them again πŸ˜‚
  4. Ignore me! I get confused between what we sent for JAs and Elmhurst so likely just the one photo πŸ˜‚ Still no email here. Has anyone with a Sunday audition had anything yet?
  5. Same! And having just looked back over the audition photos we sent in, I worry that DD has already been consigned to the not so good group if dancingdays' theory is correct πŸ˜‚ What group is your DD in?
  6. Oh I hope that’s not the case. Starting to think it’s a shame that they’re not being seen in person... Will interesting to compare notes after the weekend!
  7. Were they auditioning for the same centre? Does seem a little strange - would have thought the auditions were relatively standardised.
  8. Off to check my inbox... EDIT: Nothing for us yet 😩
  9. Can't be too many right as they wouldn't be able to see properly on Zoom? Though thinking about it I bet they'll record and review at a later date so who knows! My DD is group 1 9:30 Sunday - she's an October birthday going for a year 5 place.
  10. I wonder how they'll do it now it's via zoom - by centre or by age?
  11. Please can you send me a picture of the grey? Thanks x
  12. We're waiting for news of the year 5 audition on Sunday... have literally just made a diary note to chase on Thursday if we haven't heard by then!
  13. Didn’t know sock glue existed! Thank you so much - problem solved 😊
  14. Little of topic but can anyone recommend ballet socks that actually stay up? Just realised we are audition unprepared!
  15. Gosh that is worrying! All girls have to go through puberty at some point - according to the NHS website the average age to begin puberty is 11 which for some is the start of year 6. So unfair to penalise on that basis IMO.
  16. I'm almost certain that it's Saturdays - eye wateringly early for anyone who has to travel for year 4 and 5 πŸ˜‚
  17. I took it as they would email us with instructions and we'd have 2.5 weeks to complete filming and send back. Could well be wrong and I'm sure someone who's been there for year 6 will be more informed!
  18. We're group 4 (Birmingham) so a bit of a while to wait for info. Do they send a video to follow along to or a list of exercises? Is there a lot of actual ballet or static stretches /standing in positions? So glad we finally have news!!
  19. Absolutely πŸ˜‚ normal auditions would have much better suited DD (the pressure definitely helps her perform) but at least it's something!
  20. Ah I see! Ignore me πŸ˜‚ I'm hoping that the panels will be kind but have flashes of all the amazing dancers DD follows on instagram who just seem to have gotten better over lockdown 😩 zoom classes didn't suit her and motivation has definitely taken a hit.
  21. I'm pretty sure that Young Dancer is on a Saturday but at a different time to JAs so children can do both? May well be wrong though! Got our email today... starting to regret letting DD have a relaxed summer as certainly not audition ready πŸ™ˆ
  22. Another one waiting for news here. Tring's CBA is held at the school and have auditions planned for 5th September - though guess that could change! I wonder if it would be too tricky to find alternative studio space if holding it on site is an issue?
  23. Exactly! It's been a really good lesson to see outside of her small dance school bubble.
  24. My DD (who's coming to the end of y4) has been doing these classes and really enjoyed them. Stretches her at times but at least she can see the competition!
