  1. Lovely waiting area with very nice little café. Very nice cappuccino and yummy looking cakes... I had lung there a few times and it was very tasty...
  2. It also says you have to send the paperwork before Feb 20th...
  3. Wonderful Anjuli_Bai! My DD's been looking for that cure forever... Thank you so much!
  4. Your question made me wonder about another one sort of linked. I don't have the answer to yours even though RBS states that no feedback will be given I think... My question is about the future chances since I always thought that you didn't stand much of a second chance of being offered a place in upper school when older than 16. Am I wrong? I know one had second chances or even better chances in MT or theatre when older but isn't the opposite in ballet? If they didn't see what they are after at 16, what are the chances at 17 or 18? Especially in the big upper schools? I genuinely hope I'm wrong...
  5. The more I read about Arts Ed the less I like them! :-(
  6. No Dramascientist, DD1 didn't as she wants to finish her French A levels first. She'll try next year. And DD2 the year after... Since they can't have mds, we have to aim for DaDas... So what does your DD have next? Was it finals at Elmhurst? I'm glad she's not too disappointed by the situation. You're right I know how travel prices can change drastically...
  7. Both my daughters were offered a place at Tring without attending the finals as they didn't qualify for Mds...
  8. Good idea! Maybe I will if I can get them to agree after the break! I'll let you know...
  9. I'm really sorry about that Dramascientist...
  10. I just wanted to add that this school has always been a bit of a mistery to me, one I would like to crack. You see, it is about 1 hour from us and of all the vocational ballet dancers I have met for years, none ever went there nor auditioned there. They all went to Paris, Marseille, Cannes, Brussels or Germany... So it really leaves me wondering why...
  11. Also, they put forward a young lady a lot because she won prizes but apparently she only stayed one year in the school and went elsewhere...
  12. The website has been like that for months... We don't live very far and we hardly ever hear about it... When we do, it can be very good or very bad... Sorry, in the end I have no idea!
  13. But what is serious full time training? Some kids dance 6 or 7 days a week without being in a vocational school... It's got to be considered as serious hence vocational?
  14. Demi pointes are flat ballet shoes in France.
  15. Sorry Ladies but I thought that thread was about terms and codes and it is turning into a guide into different levels and names given to them... I should you should start a new thread for it... Unless I misunderstood mimi66 when she started the discussion...
  16. Pastel, well done to your DD about Joffrey! Fantastic! Is it the school or the company?
  17. Piqué en tournant in France is called tourné jeté at RBS SS which through DD2 off for a while...
  18. We've been known to come from France to shop at Sheila's!!! Even when delivered here, the prices are better for us and the service is fantastic. I love the idea of helping a small shop staying alive...
  19. [ The novel was a book! Dance related of course! Of course! What a silly billy! I was so focused on pointes and some appliance I might not know about!
  20. Thank you Meadowblythe! I love your Pingu! Lots of lovely memories with my kids...
