Good luck to everyone auditioning today, a very nervous day awaits me today but dd seems to be quite calm I'm going to need a large glass of wine when we get back tonight x

For the solo section do the children just take in their music when they are called or do you hand it in when they first arrive.

I've also sent dd's passport photo with hairdown, hopefully we will hear back soon with an audition date

Thanks Balletmum16 & taxi4ballet We missed the CBA talk last term as we couldn't make it not sure what to do re dance solo as dd has her festival solo and for The Hammond audition they also ask for a solo (1 1/2 min long) thought it would be one thing less for dd to worry about, also what is a perception test ?? X

Hi balletmum16, Hope you don't mind me asking my dd forms have just been sent off today, apart from the dancing bits do they have to sit any English/Maths or non-verbal reasoning tests? X

We also can't make the open day have heard great things from parents/pupils via NYB,I called them yesterday and spoke to a very nice lady who answered all my questions netherless to say form & photos etc have been sent, one of many our dd wants to try for its going to be a very busy few months coming up

Hi Balletmum20 I think it depends on what group you are depending on which order - but my dd is in group 3 and will have coaching followed by a break then they go into their ballet lesson I think last term in group 2 there was roughly about 15 in her class, she loves her classes there and has made lots of friends Good luck to everyone new & old

I've gone for bare feet for all 3 Elmhurst JA 's was bare feet so I have just assumed for the lower school audition would be bare feet but our teacher wouldn't mind taking some more if Tring was in shoes & tights x

What an amazing bunch of talented dancers, I have so enjoyed this afternoon's performance - now can't wait until next Saturday to watch it all over again I'm such a proud mummy the smile on my dd face makes it all so worthwhile. Well done to everyone involved

Hi Clara I'm sure she's is having a great time they are so busy with lots going on my dd said the circus disco was brilliant last night, not long now until we see them can't wait until Guildord to see the performances. is anyone chaperoning I am a couple of times as we are staying up there to far to travel everyday and will keep me busy

Yes my daughter and her friends were dancing, we had a great night watching everyone and with Lauren Cuthbertson adjudicating that was very special

Well done to ds of billyelliott he was brilliant my daughter also danced in this section and gained special commendation in her modern and gained an honours in her Ballet solo we are so very proud of her Good to to everyone dancing the rest of the week

Yes the Theatre was very hot and it did seem to be a disorganised hopefully down to first day teething troubles. The girls danced beautifully but sadly no place for them yesterday but they had such a amazing time and really enjoyed the experience. Taking dd up there again tomorrow for her 9-10 solo sections

I just wanted to say good luck to everyone that is dancing this week, our first dance today with dd who is dancing in the 9 & under character group they are so very excited, but I'm sure I won't be alone reaching for the tissues with tears of proudness when they are all on stage

Rec'd our information pack yesterday dd starts on sat 7th sept at Eastleigh

I know that this might get some bad reaction but yes I am going to let her try and do both classes at Elmhurst and then go to the JA class at Eastleigh, she can be put on the waiting list for Birmingham but I have been told the classes run later in the day so not an option we have until recently been driving to London Saturday mornings for ballet lessons, then back to her ballet classes straight after and she has coped well this year, my dd wants to do both and has worked very hard this year and whilst I agree I'm mad she has been offered two amazing opportunities and we are behind her 100%

My DD received a yes today for Eastleigh she will be in the YR6 class, last year we had a no, but thought we would try again can't quite believe it as she got a yes a couple of weeks ago from Elmhurst JA's as well so will be zooming up & down the motorways on Saturday's - well done to everyone x

My DD has had an amazing week at the semi's in Fareham she came 2nd with Honours with her character solo, 2nd with Honours with her ballet solo and 1st with Honours in her modern solo section it will be our first time going to the finals we are very proud of her it's been a rollercoaster of emotions, it's been such a shame that we haven't yet got one of our groups through but fingers crossed for tomorrow for our character group, all the girls have danced so well this week and it would be lovely for them to get a chance to dance in the finals x

dd received her letter yesterday and is v happy moving up to Group 3, I'm a very proud mummy, well done to everyone

Hi My dd started in Jan so I was also wondering when we would hear about the assessments hopefully they won't keep then waiting to long x

Hi I'm new to this forum, I just wanted to say congratulations to everyone it’s such a fantastic experience My DD first auditioned last year age 8 and was successful in gaining a place within the Junior Associate dance cast, I asked NYB if she could stay for the residential as we are a 2hr drive away and she was allowed by then she was 9. She loved it soo much and made lot's of friends, it was very expensive for us but when we saw her dance we knew we had made the right decision, the children and staff are so friendly as it was her first time being away, they had all different classes during the day as well as learning the dances for the show, they had a disco and had a chorography night which was amazing to watch This year she also auditioned again and today she found out that she has been successful in getting into two of the main cast dances she is so over the moon all the hard work and running around makes it all worth it when you see the smile and the excitement of opening the letter today The NYB has given our DD fantastic opportunities last Nov she danced at The Savoy Theatre and is very lucky to be dancing at the Coronation Festival in July, we are very proud of her.
