  1. Hi everyone! My DD has just completed The London Ballet Company summer intensive for the second year now, and has been reaccepted as TLBC Associate from September as well so just wanted to give a huge shout out to the Director, Sophie and her team who have just been amazing! The Associates run once a month on Sundays in Battersea and it’s an excellent addition to existing ballet training to get the creative juices flowing and for anyone who is interested in contemporary ballet. Another one of their amazing features is YoBallet which focusses on strengthening the core and using all the right muscles. They also have a school in Wimbledon that is worth checking out (although we don’t currently attend as it quite a distance for us) but what’s different about them is that they don’t follow any strict syllabus and work by strengthening and stretching the right muscles and correcting posture to get the best results. Just had to post as it’s been a little secret of my DD for a while now and she comes out beaming after every session :) The facilities are of an excellent standard too and since I ran a search and couldn’t find any posts on them so I thought I’d get the word out there.
  2. Hi I'm looking for any residential Easter courses suitable for 9+ and due to travelling distance, from Chester down to Bristol. Birmingham is fine also. TIA
  3. Hello! does anybody have any idea whether the Central spring course is first come first served or by selection? Just because you have to send photos in, I'm not sure. thank you! Feel free to add any other info about the course! I'm debating whether to do Central or Ballet Boost, as I can't make MBS dates this year 😪
  4. Hello, would someone be able to recommend a good dance course during the Easter half term break? My daughter is 9 years old and live in the South East. RBS and Elmhurst start age 11+ and I was wondering if there were any other comparatively good courses for younger ballet dancers?
  5. NG Dance have put on some extra sessions in Nottingham to accommodate children who were still in school last week. You can book online for the whole day or turn up to do mornings, afternoons or whole day. If you're from outside Nottingham I recommend doing the Toton park tram park and ride to avoid the commuter traffic. The Lace Market tram stop is 5 minutes away. My daughter hasn't attended before but I've chatted to the teachers via Facebook over the last few months and they are lovely. I'll be taking my 10 year old and her friend but it's open to age 7-18 http://www.ngdance.org/-sessions-/
  6. Hi guys! Quick question... Does anybody have any experience of Central School of Ballet's holiday Intensives (especially the spring/Easter one)? 4 days at Central would cost about the same as 2 days of Dance Forward, so was wondering whether it was good quality. On that note, what about Dance Forward? Thank you
  7. I know it's a bit last minute but does anyone know of any Easter dance courses this year? Dd is intermediate level ballet and also does tap, modern and jazz. We're in London but she would be happy to do a residential one.
  8. Message from Olivia Pickford (OPES/MTB amongst others) It is with huge delight that I announce I am starting a new residential Annual Easter Course called Malvern Ballet Seminars. Set in the beautiful school Malvern St James in Worcestershire. We have an amazing faculty: Samira Saidi (Director of English National Ballet School) Fiona Brockway (Royal Ballet/Hammond School) Alain Dubriel (Former Principal BRB/BRB Ballet Master) Errol Pickford (Former Principal of Royal/Graduate teacher at Elmhurst) I am also delighted to announce Sarah Lamb, Principal of the Royal Ballet will be Patron for MBS. Dates : 29th March - 1st April 2016 Price - Not too bad! Enquiries - malvernballetseminars@gmail.com ................................................................................................................................................................................................................................... My daughter is absolutely gutted that we already have a holiday booked and paid for during these dates.
