Lemongirl Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 Is anyone's dd or ds auditioning for EYB in Wimbledon tomorrow? Dh has pointed out to me that the tennis starts tomorrow so traffic and parking will be a nightmare! We are thinking of going by train to be safe.
chrischris Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 I don't know where the EYB auditions are, but I go to Wimbledon for tennis often and I would definitely recommend public transport. It is pretty hectic when the tennis is on. 1
alison Posted June 23, 2013 Posted June 23, 2013 My experience is that the South West Trains service isn't too bad - there are trains every few minutes to Wimbledon - at least, there were never problems around 8 am. The District Line is likely to be rather worse, I would think, because the "queue" now starts at the Southfields end, and there are fewer transport options.
amum/Cathy Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 How did it go yesterday? Hope balletco members got places!
JulieW Posted June 25, 2013 Posted June 25, 2013 Two girls from our dance school did - one with a half scholarship (one other little one auditioned apparently but didn't get in - although it sounds like she wasn't really expecting to!!) 2
Lemongirl Posted June 25, 2013 Author Posted June 25, 2013 Dd got a place yesterday and is over the moon! 7
taxi4ballet Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 How was the traffic in the end, was it really busy round Wimbledon?
Lemongirl Posted June 26, 2013 Author Posted June 26, 2013 Thanks! We had a very easy journey by train, the station was very close to the theatre. Still waiting to find out the rehearsal venue though....
Ja Sm Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 When my dd did Wimbledon 3years ago, rehearsal were at a school in Raynes Park.
blackqueen Posted June 26, 2013 Posted June 26, 2013 Good luck lemmongirl. We will be going to Oxford for their production of Swan Lake. Casting is on July the first and dd wants so very much to be a swan.!!!!
Lemongirl Posted June 26, 2013 Author Posted June 26, 2013 Dd did Swan Lake last year in Dartford. I think most of the older girls were swans going from memory. She'll have a great time!
