Hi - is anyone from the old cast of CYBC re-auditioning for next year?  It's Sleeping Beauty! My little ballerina enjoyed the whole process/experience of being a cast member for Coppelia so much and of course learning/dancing/performing - she can't wait to re-audition.  Miss Catie was such an inspiration to the whole cast with her realms of experience. Who's in again? :-)

Hello Dancemummsy and welcome to the Forum.

I have moved your topic to Doing Dance, where our dancing parents post about their dcs.  I have also removed your duplicate topic.

Do let us know how your dd gets on.

Hi, yes my daughter can't wait!

She had such a great time rehearsing for and performing in Copellia. She made lots of new friends.

Do you know when the auditions are?

Great! AUDITIONS are on Sunday 13 December at the Stageworks Studios in St Neots, Cambridgeshire - not long to go... can't wait to start the whole process again and Sleepy Beauty should be fun! :-) The costumes were beautiful for Coppelia and the stage lighting amazing.. can't wait to see the whole production of Sleeping Beauty the ballet - hope my little ballerina gets through again :-)

Thanks for the info.

Yep, I especially liked the flowing Waltz of the Flowers costumes from the Gala second half. And wasn't the stage lighting fantastic throughout!

All the juniors took great delight in keeping secret the Miss Fusspot piece????

Not sure if my DS will audition again, (he was Dr Coppellius). I enjoyed the show and will be sad if he decides not to but he's got a lot on next year.

It would be good if he does audition again; he was a great Dr Coppelius!

Have you seen the CYBC website yet?

I think it's thanks to the tutors too.

The confidence and stage presence of my little dancer has come on leaps and bounds ... Excuse the pun!

The Cambridge Youth Ballet Company is such a wonderful opportunity for ballet dancers to perform. My daughter looked forward to every Sunday rehearsal and made some great friends. Her technique improved significantly....but this was natural progress not forced. She also developed her skills within contemporary 'lyrical' dance, which she now loves. The performance of Coppelia was magical & they were all fantastic. Everyone is talking about the auditions for the new production 'Sleeping Beauty'....my bet is that it will be very popular! If anyone is interested visit the website: www.cybcompany.co.uk

I have no idea what the overall cost is this year. Last year it was between £500- £600.It is expensive, but that was for 42 weeks training (3hrs a week), costumes, additional final rehearsals and admin. Hoping that the fees are no higher this year though!

WOW, what a buzz at the auditions today!

My Little Dancer has been showing me the exercises they did, all afternoon -she's still on a high.

I hope she's got through again.

Isn't it great. My little dancer was thrilled to pass the audition for Sleeping Beauty and had a fab time at the first class today. She's already excited for the performance in October

Hope you don't mind my bumping this thread but just to say my dd did her second class/rehearsal there this week and absolutely loves it :)

Does she have Stephen taking class? I know how much he enjoys it and - I know I'm biased - he's really good with the younger ones :D

No I don't think so, at least not so far. She's been with Catie Entwhistle today and says it's been a real treat :)

Sounds like your DS had a good experience

Ooh Catie Entwhistle, lovely lady! A blast from the past, she used to be head of Tring CBA when my DD first started there. I was only wondering the other day what she is doing now!????
