Living the Dream
If it's sticky, have you tried heating vinegar (any sort will do. I've used malt vinegar in the past), then dabbing it on. The sticky should then come off, otherwise Calamine lotion won't cover the mark completely, but might make it less noticeable. LTD

Anna C
They shouldn't shrink permanently if you wash them at 30 degrees - I would rub some biological detergent into the stain first. You can either stuff them with kitchen paper afterwards or get your dd to wear them while slightly damp, and they will remould themselves to her foot. If not, have you tried baby wipes? They have a somewhat alarming ability to get pretty much anything off.
Primaballerina1
Thanks Anna C will definitely try Baby wipes as we have many of those in our house!!
dancingboy65
I wash DS's canvas shoes in the washer, rub them with bio washing liquid. After washing I pack them with flannels, soaks up the water and keeps their shape. Small boys + white ballet shoes = muck magnet.????

Primaballerina1
Thanks for all the tips we used baby wipes which got off a lot of the stain then used heated vinegar an it looks like it's stain-free! We are stuffing them over night whilst they dry
Kate_N
Canvas shoes go in the washing machine, and if you put them straight on afterwards, they mould to your feet. So they'll stretch out again after slight shrinkage.
