  1. DS was a Northern Associate and at a local dance school. He was offered RCS, Rambert and Central and went to Central in the end. Good luck to your DS!
  2. DS was 16 and when he started at Central (he's a 3rd year now) and got he's fees and maintenance loan paid with no problem. This was also for the foundation degree.
  3. When DS did his 3 years ago he did his modern festival piece. His music was Believer by Imagined Dragons which had lyrics in it.
  4. This was in 2020, he's in his 2nd year now. He lives in Landale at Canada Water. It's been fine for him, 3 stops on the tube.
  5. My DS has been here since 1st Year.https://wearehomesforstudents.com/student-accommodation/london/surrey-quays-landale-house?utm_source=Google+Business&utm_medium=organic&utm_campaign=Surrey+Quays+Landale+House+Google+Business+Profile We really struggled to find places within our budget. It's 3 stops on the Jubilee Line from Canada Water Tube to Soutwark and it has a bus station there also. Students from his year are all over London as well as living at home. Big shopping Centre near with a Tesco etc. If you need any information just DM me.
  6. DS is in Year 2 and there are 33 in his year, 9 lads and 24 girls.
  7. DS is in his 2nd year at Central and went to a local dance school. He did Ballet Boost and Northern Ballet associates, and a couple of summer schools (as we couldn't afford anymore!) He did do a few masterclasses along the way as well. He had excellent quality local teaching and associate classes. He was ready at 16 to go to full time training and had 4 auditions and was offered places at 3 so he did well! Good luck to you and your DD!
  8. My DS is at Central, he went at 16. He did NBT associate's and Ballet Boost as well as his local classes. He also did a few summer schools with the odd masterclass thrown in (funds permitting!!) He was ready to go at 16 he wasn't keen to go any earlier. Having a brilliant male teacher locally made all the difference to him.
  9. Masters of Ballet Academy, based in London take children from 8 years old. (https://www.mastersofballetacademy.com/courses.php?course=7
  10. No we did the 51 weeks, it turned out cheaper than 39 weeks option at other places. DS is hopefully flat sharing from September, have you seen if there's an Instagram/WhatsApp for this years students you might get an idea where people are staying?
  11. DS didn't know anyone either and had a flat share with some older students from different universities. They've been really supportive and friendly. I contacted Landale about the dates of the contract being later than Centrals start date and they just added it on at the beginning. DS has felt safe there, it's a gated property access by key fob (gate and building). Rotherhite has the same problems as the rest of the London boroughs they just have to be sensible. Hope this helps!
  12. Hello, there are only a couple from Central at Landale, I only spotted it when I was searching for accommodation that was more affordable for us. You can share with friends if you book it with them. The flats are rooms with a shared kitchen and bathroom (there are some ensuite). It's two stops from the new studios Paris Gardens on the tube.
  13. My DS is a first year and he lives at Surrey Quays Landale House (Homes for Students) This will be two stops on the Jubilee Line to the new place and it's less than 5 minutes walk to the tube station. At the moment it's around 35 to 45 minutes (tube and walk to Clerkenwell. Rooms are a decent size and they a few different sizes to choose from including ensuite. Big shopping centre 5 minutes walk away.
  14. DS is 16 (in August so just when he moved!) He's at Central and in student accommodation. My tips are check if the accommodation will take 16 years olds even if only 18+ are listed as a lot do. Centrals accomodation list was on the expensive side so we looked elsewhere. Check out the discount travel cards if in London (child prices until they're 18). And what others have said cooking, washing and cleaning before they go to practice!!
  15. My DS auditioned for RCS this year. He was offered a place, he loved the audition and the studio's but has chosen to go to his first choice of Central. I read on here that there are only around 17 places offered but it is possible to get in. Hope this helps and good luck if he decides to audition.
  16. My DS has had Ballet Boost and home dance school lessons via zoom. He's really enjoyed them, particularly the interaction. He also did two videoed final auditions for 16+ ballet schools and got offers for both. He said they were easier than the first auditions as he had less nerves!
  17. Yes, thanks I'd looked at those. IQ got back to me today to say that they don't take under 18's in any of their properties.
  18. Hello, DS has a place at Central . I'm looking at Liberty House (Walmsley house) as one of the options. He would be looking to share (to get the price down a bit!) Do we need to find a flatmate ourselves? Also does anyone know of any Homestay websites or where I can look?!! And the last thing the prices at IQ Paris Gardens (for a shared twin room is the price per person or room?.
  19. Ds also got the offer today. Good luck to everyone waiting!
  20. Video submissions had to be in by 13th April according to DS's email.
  21. That's tomorrow's job. I've had a quick look...😱
  22. Yes for my DS, one happy boy as it was his first choice. Good luck everyone x
  23. Offers going out today according to their Facebook page!
  24. On the email DS got it, with all the information about the digital audition on, it said on or before the 20th April they would receive the results. I wonder how many videos they've got to go through ?!!
