  1. Can't claim credit for the detail, I'm afraid. The detail was already in the programme pages that I scanned. All I did was correct the gobbledegook that resulted from converting the pdf into a Word document. There were certain letters in italics that the conversion process clearly couldn't recognise. It just guessed what they were: - eg this is what it made of 'choreography' - CllOrcogl'aplly !! Edit: Indeed I've just noticed one example of this that I failed to correct. In Autumn Leaves, I didn't notice "Tile" Chrysanthemum - this should, of course, have been 'The' Chrysanthemum
  2. A pity Zoë Anderson didn't see the cast change slip for An Intimate Evening with Anna Pavlova. She would have found out that there was a printing error in the programme and that Bacchanale was choreographed by Ursula Hageli (and not Liam Scarlett). In addition, Meaghan Grace Hinkis was not Pavlova in this piece. She had been replaced by Emma Maguire.
  3. When I got home Sunday evening, I made a pdf document for a friend. I've attempted to copy this document and paste it here. Because of the font of the original, many of the words came out in gobbledegook. I've corrected all those I could see. Apologies if I missed any! This will also differ from the original as I've tried to put in the cast changes from the slip we were given. If I've missed any, I'd welcome corrections from others who were present. 4. I have a spare ticket for Friday's rehearsal of Les Troyens (June 22, 11am) . I'll be at the rehearsal myself so could do the exchange before the performance. The seat is in the amphi, L67 (aisle seat) and the cost is £13. This is a duplicate of the posting I've put in the Tickets for Sale forum. If interested, please contact me and post here to say that you've done so.
  5. Can't find a cast sheet but I've found the following from a 2010 reminder email. I don't imagine the timings will have changed. Performance Timings: Act I (37 minutes) Scene Change (6 minutes) Act II (21 minutes) Interval (25 minutes) Act III (28 minutes) Interval (20 minutes) Act IV (33 minutes)
  6. Thanks, Bruce. I was using the PM system because I knew that particular administrator could access it more easily than email. The explanation you've provided will help me know what to do in the future.
  7. This Sunday, June 17 at 10pm, Sky Arts1 have a new South Bank Show "The Male Dancer". Here is the announcement from the Sky website: http://skyarts.sky.c...the-male-dancer: In this episode of The South Bank Show, we look at the rise of the male ballet dancer as superstar, while asking what it takes to make a great dancer: the sacrifices, the dedication, the passion, the personal tragedy. A special study will be made of the ballet Mayerling, choreographed byKenneth Macmillan and filmed for The South Bank Show in 1978; this full-length ballet, more than any other celebrates the male dancer as a tour de force, and the lead part of Prince Rudolph is widely considered to be the most fulfilling role for a male dancer. As well as extraordinary archive interviews and footage of Rudolph Nureyev, Kenneth MacMillan, Michael Clark, Matthew Bourne andWayne MacGregor, we bring you interviews with Mikhail Baryshnikov, Tamara Rojo, Edward Watson and Carlos Acosta. Acosta will also be performing especially staged pieces.
  8. I just tried again and, instead of sending it as a new message, I sent it as a reply to a message I'd received some time ago. This time it worked! Curiouser and curiouser.........
  9. I just tried to send a PM to an administrator and the message below came up (I've removed the name of the member) Is this because administrators can't receive PMs or because the administrator's mailbox is full?: The following errors were found The member (.....) cannot receive any new messages This personal message has not been sent
  10. You did, Jane. Here's an extract from Louise Levene's review of La Sylphide (http://www.telegraph...ine-review.html) "She may be starting work as director of English National Ballet in September, but Tamara Rojo will be bidding a long goodbye to Covent Garden. She dances Marguerite and Armand and a few other morsels next season, but this week’s two performances of La Sylphide could well have been her last."
  11. I agree but I would add that the girls are equally talented. To name just two, Ksenia Ovsyanick and Shiori Kase both have huge potential.
  12. A friend has just sent me a link to a fascinating video clip on the New York Times website. It is entitled, 'Dancing with Swans' and this title is an exact description of the clip! http://video.nytimes...2313/index.html I did look to see if the link had already been posted and didn't find it. Apologies if it has, indeed, been posted already. Edited to add that I'd forgotten to say that there's a brief advert before the clip starts.
  13. You're not imagining it. Napoli divertissements and Rhapsody alternated as companion pieces to La Sylphide, (around 5 years ago?) Not only was it wonderful programming but it was sold as a Mixed Bill so the prices were much lower than they have been for the current run and, if I remember rightly, the auditorium was consequently less empty.
  14. Ah! Thanks for that. I think I might have got the joke if you'd written RB. It was the reference to the school that threw me.
  15. At the risk of appearing ignorant, I'd be grateful for an explanation of the connection between the festooning of chandelier and mantelpiece trimmings and the RBS.
  16. Here's the offer: SPECIAL OFFER FOR OLT READERS TOP PRICE TICKETS ONLY £50 (USUALLY £91, £85 AND £83) BOOK THIS SPECIAL OFFER NOW Performances on Saturday 26 May at 19:00, Thursday 7 June at 19:30 and Friday 15 June at 19:30 BOOK ONLINE and type 'oltballo' into the 'Do you have a code?' box and click 'Update' OR CALL THE BOX OFFICE ON +44 (0)20 7304 4000 and quote 'OLT Ballo offer' when booking. Although I had no intention of paying £50 for a ticket I just did a dummy purchase and it worked. After you've clicked on the chosen date you have to put 'oltballo' into the 'do you have a code' box. You then click on the area you're interested in, choose a seat and two prices come up at the side - the full price and the OLT price. You presumably have to click on the OLT one and put it into your basket. Edited to say that I just went back to it and it only appears to work in the Orchestra Stalls. The days I looked at had £83, £85 and £78 seats left. Interestingly, the reduced price of £50 only came up for the £83 and £85 seats. The £78 didn't reduce! SPECIAL OFFER FOR OLT READERS TOP PRICE TICKETS ONLY £50 (USUALLY £91, £85 AND £83) SPECIAL OFFER FOR OLT READERS TOP PRICE TICKETS ONLYUALLY £91, £85 AND £83)
  17. I realised tonight that I hadn't named the full cast. This was because there were four dancers who weren't in DaveM's photos. I'm pretty sure they were also the dancers in the rehearsal: Tara Brigitte Bhavnani, Olivia Cowley, Fumi Kaneko and Pietra Mello Pittman. Apologies to those four for leaving them out!
  18. As always your photographs are gorgeous, Dave. They've also helped jog my memory so as to be able to answer Nina G's query on the rehearsal thread. http://www.balletcof...hearsal-19-may/ She said she was disappointed that the cast sheet didn't contain the names of all the dancers. Using your photos as a guide, the dancers in the corps were: Claire Calvert, Jacqueline Clark, Nathalie Harrison, Francesca Hayward, Yasmine Naghdi, Romany Pajdak, Leticia Stock and Sabina Westcombe Edited to add in a dancer. Through trying to put them in alphabetical order I'd missed one out!
  19. ......and Rupert Pennefather is replaced by Dawid Trzensimiech in La Sylphide. http://www.roh.org.uk/news/ballo-della-regina-cast-change
  20. I've just tried that but, on my computer, although it works with the lower areas of the House, it doesn't work with the amphitheatre. Edited to update the above. It doesn't initially show the whole amphitheatre but it does allow you to drag the plan around until you can see the whole of it. At last! Thank you John.
  21. I've been using Google Chrome without problem. I do, however, have Internet Explorer on my computer. I just tried it out. Although the four sided arrow appeared, I wasn't able to drag the map around with it. Maybe it's an IE issue? Are you able to download a different browser such as Google Chrome? It might possibly solve your problem.
  22. If you put the mouse pointer onto the white area to the side of the map you'll get a symbol with arrows pointing in all four directions. You can then drag the plan up, down, to the right or to the left. You have to take care to keep the pointer in the white area or you'll find it does start to zoom in or out. If this happens, just click on 'reset map' and start again! Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be a way to see the whole plan at once.
  23. If you click on the seat you want, it will appear in the panel on the left hand side. Not only will you see the seat number and price but there will be alternating pictures, of the seat and of the view from the seat. If you decide you want it you need to click on 'select' and a button labelled 'add to basket' will then appear. If you click on this the ticket will go into your basket. Good luck!
  24. I don't think it's possible to have more than one main entry point. I think whether or not they insist on using the main entry point depends on the engineer you get. When we signed up to Infinity, I assumed we'd have to have the router connected to our main point which is downstairs in our kitchen. My difficulty was that the computer is in an upstairs study. I called BT and asked how this would work and was told that the engineer would have to install the router at the main point and then provide a cable from there to the computer. This would have involved a cable coming up the stairs and going behind floor to ceiling bookcases in the study. I spent several days reorganising the study to allow for this. When the engineer turned up he said that none of this had been necessary and that he could plug the router into the extension point next to our computer! He was in and out in less than 20 minutes and our connection has so far been fine - around 27 Mbps.
