Sorry for the delayed response. I am looking for weekend tickets because my daughter is in school.

Looking for 2 tickets for a matinee performance of the Nutcracker in London (flexible which weekend/production/price).

Our ballet school does such shows in winter and summer but their older children (10-11 yr olds and above) are so incredibly accomplished that the younger ones only get a few minutes on stage in a show that lasts about 1.5 hours. My daughter loves the school and the performance so there is no question of changing schools at the moment but it would be nice to add something to complement the school.

How difficult is it to get into LCB? My daughter is too young this year but I was wondering how competitive it is. Also are there any other performance opportunities for children in London? I've seen a few other programmes but they seem to be focused on other regions / cities.

I thought everything I read about Tring sounded so dreamy! We live close to Chiswick so driving to Tring not really an option. No direct experience but I can see why it would be hard to turn Tring down.

I can't seem to be able to open the attachments to see what level she is in but I guess level one because she's only 7 yrs old / year 2.

I am sorry that I didn't realize that well groomed these days requires more than neat / solid ballet bun, clean / simple leotard, clean socks / tights and clean ballet shoes. I learn something new every day. I am sure that kids ultimately get judged on their potential, ability and skills. I also consider myself fortunate that my DD's ballet school (vocational ballet school in London that goes up to the age of 18) doesn't expect her to be a walking advert. I have no problem with competition. I personally medaled at the top level in international competitions myself but thank you for sharing your concern.

I didn't find the number of kids intimidating. I found the presentation of some of them intimidating, like on some of those American TV shows. I was a competitive athlete too and honestly until we got close to national level, we didn't have the level of grooming and personalized gear that 7 year olds seem to have these days (I wasn't a ballerina but let's just say it was something similar to ballet).

I think they have a junior group and a senior group for auditions. When I picked up my daughter I thought, wow, quite a lot of kids! The vast majority in personalized dance gear, and at least 10 of them seemed to come from one particular dance school based on the hoodies. Quite intimidating! Was she in the younger or older group? I thought there were quite a lot of kids in the younger group.
