  1. Amelie, welcome to the club of "Shalsters"! 😀 I too hope for a review and official pictures. I saw a lot of Video clips of his performance with Iana Salenko, doing the "Flames of Paris" PDD, and was, as always, impressed by all his cabrioles, fast turns, soft and long manege jumps and crazy 540ers. And Iana's fouettes were amazing. They looked good together, although they met for the first time for rehearsals on Friday only (first gala day). It was fun to see them at curtain call too and during jury work, there was good chemistry between them, me thinks. There were only 2 very short clips of the "Dying Swans" piece by Juliano Nunes with Toon Lobach. I can’t really say if it worked, I hope to see it some day, hopefully with Shale and Derek Dunn, the "original" Swans. (The video from Orsolina is just so so beautiful.) The Les Hivernales website seems to be a bit lame with Updates (my guess is due to lack of people). You can check out Shale's Instagram Story (saved as Belgium), but due to ig restrictions, the clips are very short and not in original size.
  2. Also, on my last visit in 2019 (🙈), I enjoyed the Tate Museum, with the wonderful Turner collection. It's free and also has a nice Cafe. https://www.tate.org.uk/visit
  3. If you can, check out Shale's Instagram stories. He and Iana Salenko set the stage on fire with the Flames of Paris, woah!! https://instagram.com/shalewagman?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
  4. Whenever I'm in London, I visit Westminster Abbey. It's just so beautiful inside. If you fancy a Service, you can sit on the benches illuminated with the little red lamps. And enjoy the Boy's Choir.
  5. I'm pretty sad that I couldn't go to Liege. But with a sprained ankle, a splinted foot, I cannot walk properly and have to be careful. Bad timing. 😭

  7. What a great experience!! Thanks for the report. I hope to see him perform someday.❤️
  8. During Covid, I suspected that not a single company would offerJobs because they struggled financially to keep their own dancers. But Bavarian Staatsballett did hire some non EU dancers. Berlin Staatsballett has at least 5 British dancers. So it's not impossible.
  9. Dear Forum members, as some of you already know, I was born and raised in East Germany. In 2021, a film presented at the Berlin Film Festival brought back bittersweet memories of dancers I had admired in the Eighties, as members of the Tanztheater Komische Oper Berlin. I am sooo grateful for this film, it's close to my heart and an important document because almost no footage is left of all the pieces I loved to watch, including the famous "Keith" on Keith Jarrett's Koeln Concert. Here's what the Director Salar Ghazi said, who produced this film almost completely on his own: "KEEP MOVING, made over a period of 12 years and filmed on two continents, premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2021. This documentary feature tells the biographies of dancers in the communist GDR. They came from modest backgrounds, as their training was paid for by the state. Since they belonged to the international elite, they got to know the West through guest performances - a privilege the Berlin Wall denied their compatriots. Those who tried to defect risked prison and even death. Under constant surveillance by the state security, many had to make a life decision: Stay in the GDR or flee, with the prospect of never seeing family and friends again. The stories told and private VHS footage create a vivid picture that brings to life the zeitgeist before the fall of the Berlin Wall." I highly recommend to watch this film, and would love to read your thoughts about it. It's available for small money (3,99 Euros) here: https://fishermansframe.gumroad.com/l/abtyf German with subtitles in English, 中文简体, Español, Français, Ελληνική, Polski.
  10. Marco Masciari graduated from Académie Princess Grace in 2020 after winning Prix de Lausanne the same year. APG certainly is one of the best schools worldwide, nurturing and training very talented dancers ❤️
  11. On April 11, 2023 YAGP will kick off the celebrations for its 25th anniversary with a special gala in New York, Lincoln Center. I have put this event in the calendar some time ago, here is now the poster with current information. Link to the event and gala dinner https://yagp.org/25-anniversary-kick-off-gala-event/
  12. Staatsballett Berlin goes with Marco Goecke's "Petroushka" as planned onstage in June 2023. After a meeting with the dancers (and certainly in agreement with Christian Spuck), this decision was published today. Rehearsals will be done with Goecke's assistant, as it had been planned before. I cannot find the press release, but will post the link as soon as it's published. I support(ed) this decision, based on artistic reasons. It's good that they did not follow the media hype and blind cancel culture. Well done. Of course they stated that Mr. Goecke will not be present during rehearsals and that they condemn what happened in Hanover and do not tolerate it.
  13. @Don Q Fan ah thanks for the cast sheet. I love Madison Young and also Maria Baranova (a beautiful Julia, btw) for their artistry. And my favorite Rubies couple is Carollina Bastos and Shale Wagman, Shale is such a red Blitz onstage. I was curious about the debut Baranova/Mckay. Very glad that you enjoyed the evening.
  14. The Statement from Bolshoi theatre is from April 2022?🤔
  15. Happy to read that you enjoyed Jewels, I love this ballet. Which cast have you seen?
  16. What I saw on instagram of the grand défilé was breathtaking!!! I think I saw a sea of 60 Swans opening? OMG so beautiful. But I did miss Sylvie Guillem, or was she there?
  17. Some remarks/corrections: How they both got the job in Munich was actually not by chance, but I'm not going into detail here. Antonio has a very good technique, no surprise he was a Prix de Lausanne Prize Winner. So far, they did not dance and are still not casted in the solo Rubies couple in Munich (Carollina Bastos and Shale Wagman debuted and danced it several times, next time is March 3rd). A&M debuted in Emeralds PdT and will dance it on March 3rd again alongside Bianca Teixeira. They also did not dance Basilio and Kitri in DonQ in Munich (or any professional staging, but in their school or maybe for a gala).
  18. @Emeralds lol. All flowers to Silver Capricorn!💐💐❤️
  19. I assume Daniil Simkin will be singing. Because the website says he is from Berlin State Opera, whereas Evelina Godunova, Iana Salenko and David Soares are from Berlin State Ballet. 🤣
  20. Well Gustav is an old doggie, I hope all the best for him, especially right now❤️❤️
