    Hi my daughter is currently in 1st year and is very happy and enjoying it very much. The days are long and full. She thinks she has really improved as a dancer and her body has changed - much stronger! It’s quite strict but she seems to like that. The accommodation is great, very modern, close to the studios and the dancers are all in together. Opportunities are good and the further up the school they go the more they get. They prep for Fonteyn, have rcs specific performances, perform at Gleneagles (twice this academic year)and some third years have joined the Scottish ballet tours. Happy to answer any questions on a PM if that would help.

    the dancers pointe in Newcastle is very good. We also use dance wear Edinburgh on rose street. Both have a good range to try and fit well.

    Has anyone reserved a room and not been tied into a year of accommodation? I’m reluctant to confirm until all auditions are done and funding is announced. I have a tentative discussion going with Amber Students who have rooms available for NBS students.

    The RBS associates in Dundee teacher has her own school in Perthshire classical ballet coaching with Kelly Mcole

    When my DD went at 13 we made a plan for her first exeat weekend - seeing familiar friends etc as something to look forward to - she changed plans for the next one and gradually she decided what we all did when she came home. She took lots of photos and her good luck cards from friends. We also tried not to keep calling or messaging her in the first week - to give her time to get used to the change herself without constant questions from us about how it was going! We helped set up her bedroom space before we left and had some other girls around when we did leave so she was distracted. The school have done this before so they know the signs to look out for. I think the anticipation is worse than when they actually go. Good luck - I hope the next few weeks pass without issue

    We got a yes for Senior residential - DD is delighted - she loved it last year.

    Hi - does anyone know if dancers can audition for upper schools such as Tring and Elmhurst at 17 - one year after GCSE or have they missed their chance if they don’t go immediately after GCSE?

    Hi - they are on holiday until next week and suspect admissions won’t do anything until the staff are back to give instructions!-

    DD was accepted to course 2 but due to a clash we moved to course 1. Not looking for accommodation - any suggestions gratefully received - she is 15 so I will need to stay with her!
