  1. With thanks to all for taking the time to recommend NE pointe shoe shops. I am very grateful. WE went to E&L Dance Boutique ( as it was the nearest one to us). It was an amazing experience all round and Emma give us a first class service and made my daughter feel so comfortable, confident and welcome. The product range, knowledge and fitting was exceptional. We walked away with the perfect shoes. Thanks again to you all for this - one very happy daughter and Mum.
  2. Thank you all so much for your recommendations . So helpful and much appreciated. Will look into them all.
  3. Hello - would be grateful for any feedback on the below. Wondered if anyone could suggest any great pointe shoe shops in North East England ( although happy to travel to Edinburgh / Leeds/ London if needs be) Our usual shop has sadly shut down and my daughter needs shoes urgently for a performance at the end of the month due to her outgrowing current ones. As her dance school is shut over the holidays I can't get them checked as I normally would so need to be assured that they are well fitted so any recommendations would be much appreciated. This will be her 5th pair. Looking for a shop with good choice and great fitter. Really appreciate anyone who has any input on this. Thank you.
  4. Firstly well done to your daughter. We did them and Iโ€™ve nothing but positive things to say. It was excellent and personalised teaching and my daughter came on so much doing them. She learnt so much. The classes are small enough for them to get attention and corrections. We found them to be easier to work around as a family as she did them in the home - so no driving involved ๐Ÿ˜Š Canโ€™t remember cost but well worth it in our opinion. Hope this helps ๐Ÿ˜Š
  5. A heartfelt congratulations to all those who gained their dreamed of places today . How wonderful. Also heartfelt thoughts to all those children who didn't get the news they'd hoped for today . Never easy for them (or us. ) Regardless of news, there are so many more wonderful opportunities ahead for all these talented dancers. We feel lucky in that DD got SWL/online, although we know the chance of an in person place are probably remote we feel very proud of her achievements . Thanks to everyone on here for your support and advice during this process - its been very much appreciated. Wishing you all well as you continue this exciting and often stressful journey. x
  6. Hello all. I have been following this post for some time and decided to make my first post today. This is my first experience of RBS junior associates. ( although we have done the mid associates auditions with my oldest before. ) I wish I'd seen this posting earlier than I did - pre our audition - as I very stupidly put my DD in non convertable tights for her audition ( what was I thinking !!) so totally worried I have blown her chances. So annoyed with myself. They were required to show their feet so I feel I let her down in not thinking it through really. Like you all have mentioned my DD had a wonderful experience at the audition where the teachers were so kind and friendly and she came out full of joy and optimism - which is so lovely regardless of the outcome that she has achieved much from this application. Also like most of you I am more nervous than her!!! I have really appreciated reading these posts and thank you all for your helpful insights and support. It's so lovely that as a community we can feel supported by one another and gain from others knowledge and experience . I wish you and your lovely children all the best in the coming weeks as we hear the results. Even if we all don't get the results we wish for I hope everyones DC gains from this experience and still feels very proud of themselves - they have achieved much to have auditioned in the first place.
