that's cool! Never heard of that possibility before either. It's amazing what the internet can do nowadays!

I've asked my friends about this whole livestreaming thing and they told me somehting about a website called picarto.tv, which is a website for creative live streaming. They offer all kinds of creative stuff and dancing seems to be a part of it, too. What really fascinated me about this was the fact that it's actually possible to interact with the person streaming. I've never given the idea too much thought but this does sound kind of interesting.

I know this is a topic that's not quite familiar within the dance circle, but I've heard from friends there's the possibility to livestream your own performances? I know that this is a quite common thing in the gaming community (which I'm not a part of, but some of my friends are) and this actually sounds quite interesting. I've never given much thought to it, as I thought that maybe there's too much of a tutorial vibe that comes with it, but what do you think? I've personally never heard of such a possibility,

I'd really want to see that but I live in America now and I don't think they're planning on coming over soon... Saw some clips online and thought their performance was phenomenal. -

Is it still worth watching? Oh, I forgot one movie I absolutely loved watching as a kid and haven't seen since: Billy Elliot. I remember watching this on repeat when I was younger, but I have absolutely no clue what I would think of it now as a 23-year old adult. -

Wasn't The Adjustment Bureau a thriller movie? I believe it wasn't a dance movie entirely, but I might be mistaken. -

Thank you! I'm relatively new to the forum so I always appreciate it when somebody helps me out a little Such a cool thing thing for companies to actually livestream some of their productions. Never heard of it being done before so I'm glad to see that this is actually a thing. Love it.

Watched Ballerina the other day and it was fantastic! The dance scenes, performed by the Royal Danish Ballet, are superb and the plot is entrancing. Loved Henning Kronstam, Kirsten Simone and Mette Honnigen in their roles were absolutely phenomenal and I wish this was available on DVD... A definite buy for me. you mean the movie from 2005? -
Awesome! Does anyone know if there are more ballet livestreams?

My friend, who's British, told me something about a guy named Phil Taylor who's located in North Yorkshire I believe... I live in America so I can't really tell you if he's actually good, but you might want to check it out anyway!

@alison thanks! I read through some of the posts, but I'm still not sure whether I should watch it or not at least Irina Dvorovenko is in this. I heard the lead actress was originally a dancer as well? Thank you so much! I know what I'll be watching today! -
Same here... One of my favorite movies ever. The scene where he shouts 'I am not an elephant! I am not an animal! I am a human being! I am a man!' still haunts me to this very day and every time I talk to somebody about it, I tear up. One of the most important movies every made. If you haven't seen it, you should stop what you're doing and watch it right away.

Booing at the ballet?
ivyvaine23 replied to Geoff's topic in Performances seen & general discussions
Exactly what I feel, So, not everyone thought the production was bad? Interesting how much opinions vary actually... I'd loved to see that production just to figure out what my reaction to it would be, Really?? Why's that? Any particular reason? -

First of all, thank you so much for your recommendations! I wrote them all down This is one of my favorite topics as well!! I've read about The Children of Theatre Street! Not that it really matters, but wasn't it nominated for an Oscar? And you're not alone in hating Black Swan. Natalie Portman is an amazing actress, but I don't like how the ballet company is portrayed. As you said, it provided a very jaundiced view of life in a ballet company. I'd also be interested in that Disney feature film! Do you have a link for that? I looked it up but I can't seem to find it... -
Booing at the ballet?
ivyvaine23 replied to Geoff's topic in Performances seen & general discussions
I never understood why people need to boo in the first place. Not clapping or just clapping half-heartedly is enough in my opinion. Booing just sounds so disrespectful in my opinion, for any artist. -

One of my favorites. My mom showed me a lot of her perfomances, which got me interested in ballet as well. She truly was amazing...
