  1. My daughter is currently yr 6 and been an associate from yr 4, not sure if that's made a difference with the rejection letters?
  2. Aw fantastic new balletmummy55! My daughter was fine about her no. She's looking forward to the easter intensive for the current associates so still will get a little experience of Elmhurst.
  3. We were there last Tuesday. I'm pleased we can get some feedback as may help her for future auditions.
  4. It was a no for my little one too. She had a feeling it would be. She absolutely loved the school last week and she wasn't expecting to at all. She is very good at ballet but her heart is definitely more towards musical theatre (though she did say she'd try again next year). We were at hammond yesterday and have tring auditions thur & Friday this week. Our letter did indicate they were happy to discuss how they could support her dance training, is this because she's an associate or is this on everyone's letter? I thought no feedback would be offered? Good luck to those still waiting for results.
  5. Hi, my daughter attended Hammond yesterday for her audition. She absolutely loved it! I just want to say what a thoughtful bunch the current year 7s are. My daughter was over the moon to see little good luck messages written throughout the boarding house for those auditioning yesterday. It was such a little thing but it definitely made her feel more relaxed about the whole experience.
  6. My daughter was in the first group this morning, a class of 21 she thinks all currently year 6. She had agreed to attend this audition mainly because her Elmhurst associates teacher thought she should try. She absolutely adores performing but is clear (or was) that ballet wouldn't be for her that she'd prefer theatre arts more. However as soon as we got to the school this morning she fell in love with it. The staff, the atmosphere and the overall ethic of the school. I have to agree too, I loved it. She's got more auditions next week for tring and Hammond but she'd absolutely love a recall for Elmhurst.
  7. Thanks for all the recommendations, I'll contact them to see what they can advise.
  8. Hi can anyone recommend any dance shops on the north east that fit demi pointes and pointe shoes? I've two children one almost 14 with an extremely slim foot and the other almost 11 who is currently only a size 12. I'm needing pointe shoes for the eldest (currently in grishko) and demi pointes for the youngest. We do have a local dance shop but I have no faith in their fitting. We are due to do a fair bit of travelling in Jan as youngest has auditions at Elmhurst/Tring/Hammond so willing to try shops near those if anyone can recommend any. Is it even possible to get demi pointes in my daughters size? I've searched everywhere online and can't seem to find any?
  9. Sarahw she's auditioning for both dance and theatre arts. She not 100% sure which she'd prefer yet, she's a very good classical dancer but has a passion for performing.
  10. Thank you, I'll have a look and see what my daughter thinks.
  11. Hi I'm new to the forum but have been reading over the past few weeks. My daughter is ten years old and will be auditioning in January. 10th Elmhurst (she's already part of the JA) 16th Hammond, 19th 20th Tring. She is looking forward to all of them but has anyone any advice on where to look for a drama piece suitable for her audition at Tring?
