  1. Just wanted to say thanks for the above info!
  2. Thank you, having neat hair is her main concern, it's very thick and dd still unable to do herself!
  3. Thank you! Can you recall what time the day started and classes ended? Was there plenty of time for breakfast and to get ready with hair in bun etc?
  4. I posted recently about the junior summer school but had no response - could anyone on here that attended the juniors tell me roughly what the day consists of in timings, classes, evening activities, food etc? Thank you
  5. Could anyone kindly tell me what the schedule was like last year at the junior summer school please? How was the day structured in terms of ballet, jazz , other classes etc and timings of things? ThNks
  6. We've received ours back now earlier than target date, very pleased!
  7. It was grade that we did start of July, for those that have had results was that grade exams?
  8. Has anyone had any results back from these recent exams, just wondering if they will be back soon?
  9. So the box on the application form that asks if you are applying elsewhere, do you think it really makes a difference if you say yes or no?
  10. Hi can anyone remember please whether it is bare legs and bare feet for the audition photographs? ThNks
  11. They tend to be held at festivals so I'm guessing if children don't take part in them that probably explains why you may not have heard x
  12. Ballet is king- Do you travel all over to take part in these? I've only ever seen an excellent standard x
  13. I know of one dd who has been offered a place of the priority list x
  14. I think all children are different and progress at different rates, I definitely don't think they should be held back with others who are not ready to take an exam but at the same time should be thoroughly prepared. Dd did grade 3 in 8 months with an hour a week.
  15. Thank you harwel and busy mum. Where are your two at/going?
  16. Thank you so much to both of you for taking the time to reply- it's such a hard and difficult journey for both parents and children isn't it, such a rollercoaster ride with so few places. Dd really likes Tring and I know she would like to apply. It won't be a year 7 place we go for so I'm not sure if that makes things harder. Guess I just felt a little reluctant after reading some posts but obviously appreciate the honesty and openess of this site in sharing valuable experiences as I would hate to waste time and money if that is how tring operates. After making white lodge finals this year (which I still find hard to believe did and wonder if was an admin error!) it really did drain us emotionally and the last thing we want would be to try for something that has no mds places. Thank you for reassuring me and I guess if it's meant to be then it will be and nothing is gained by not trying! With regards to the solo at tring, does this have to be exactly 1 minute and do you choose your music? Thank you!
  17. After having decided we would apply to tring I feel a little disappointed after reading many of the above posts. A little confused, I noticed a few mention that no mds awards were actually given after the funding audition this year as all places were taken earlier by those who could afford to pay fees and didn't need mds, and they were told this direct from the school? As well I see another lady who has tring experience says she can well believe it in another post. Then I also read a couple did get mds? Which is true? Surely they should hold back so many awards to give at the funding audition? I will be extremely weary about applying now... Do they not offer any funded places after the first set of auditions? Many thanks
  18. I believe it was end of August start of sept I sent ours off to royal last year and closing date was end of nov .
  19. Where does it say July please as I can't see a date? Thanks
