  1. It's probably just a glitch. Or something's being changed. Or something.
  2. Still looking, particularly for 24th May, as I almost certainly can't make the other date for that cast.
  3. May 24th Winter's Tale currently not showing on the ROH website Another unspecified performance claiming to be sold out when it isn't
  4. I'm a little confused here: it's double Swan Lake on Saturday, isn't it?
  5. "Sorry, this page isn't available. The link you followed may be broken, or the page may have been removed." ?? Perhaps someone had second thoughts.
  6. I wonder if it may also be down to the change in lighting? If companies have been moving over to LEDs, that will probably have "bleached" the colours. And talking of lighting, they really do need to do something about the "dark" bits of the show - I could barely see Carabosse at times apart from the exposed skin at her neckline, and even less so her minions.
  7. So that's when the "Two Weddings and a Funeral" bill took place! I couldn't remember. That season would, I think, have been somewhat exceptional, though, given that it was the Ashton centenary, as I recall. Ondine - then, and then in 2009, and not since? Must also have been the occasion of the Ballet.co "Ondine to be sponsored by Kwells" April Fool ... How time flies.
  8. It will also be a lot more expensive (and watch out for the far slower trains which run the same route at substantially lower cost!) - an off-peak return is pushing £70 (https://www.avantiwestcoast.co.uk/tickets-and-savings), whereas it's about half that via Chiltern Railways (which may admittedly only be 4/5 carriages). You can advance-book a specific train at lower cost, but then you need to make very sure that you don't miss it. Avanti tickets are generally valid for any viable route, so that includes Chiltern, but the reverse isn't true - normally.
  9. She certainly has grown in this ballet since I saw her near-debut in Southampton. And yes, I agree about the chemistry: I actually felt that their story mattered, which I find is a bit of a rare thing in Sleeping Beauty.
  10. The Bourmeister version of Swan Lake also uses a prologue, doesn't it - along with Derek Deane's version for ENB?
  11. Quite. I was about to say "can you imagine anything similar happening in the UK?" (or for that matter quite a few other countries), but I see Roberta's beaten me to it.
  12. If sadler's wells are going to have 15-minute intervals, then they need to sort out the queues for ice cream and programmes. They were incredibly slow (understaffed?), and I had barely bought my ice cream when I had to get back into the auditorium. Plus there were still long queues for the ladies' at the bell.
  13. There are an awful lot of Carmens on at the moment, Amelia - which one is it you're looking for?
  14. Well, in that case perhaps I'm not surprised - there would be copyright considerations in that case, I suppose. (And I'm pretty sure it is).
  15. Yes, it's a real shame he's out of action for the next ... however long
  16. Did they put a trigger warning on the production?
  17. (Never seen the opera, but have frequently seen photos of the blood-spattered bridal gown) - am I right in thinking that the miscarriage was chosen as an alternative reason for the bloodstains?
  18. I didn't manage to pick up any standing tickets for The Winter's Tale when public booking opened, and can't afford to sit down for this one, so if anyone has any stalls circle or balcony D standing tickets going spare please do bear me in mind! Thanks!
  19. Unfortunately, due to the incompetence of his suppliers, our electrician had to work late tonight, meaning that I couldn't get away in comfortable time for the cinema showing - and given the dirty looks I've previously received for daring to turn up just before the start I didn't fancy risking it this time. So I guess I'll have to catch an encore performance. Hoping everyone enjoys it.
