Royal Ballet's Swan Lake (Spring 2022)

I think his name for the Fumi performance was removed after his appointment to Northern Ballet so could be that is why.- 1,276 replies

Royal Ballet's Swan Lake (Spring 2022)
SPD444 replied to MJW's topic in Performances seen & general discussions
I too felt a bit underwhelmed tonight, maybe waiting a couple of years had built my expectation unfairly high. Her White swan was utterly beautiful particularly her response to Siegfried’s pleading in Act 4 was very powerful. It was the Black swan pdd which usually gets me pretty fired up but tonight left me flat, her fouettés just didn’t happen for me. Having said all that it was very well received, the swans are totally wonderful, William partnered her beautifully, and all the various dance routines were really good. Would not have missed this for the world.- 1,276 replies

Is it definitely Frankie’s debut in the Odette/Odile role on Wednesday? What about William, is it his too?- 1,276 replies

I’ve already cashed mine in at a performance of R&J. An offer like this must be taken in case they change their minds. Two years Friends+ subscriptions with no performances and we get one free programme. Heaven.- 1,276 replies

Royal Ballet's Swan Lake (Spring 2022)
SPD444 replied to MJW's topic in Performances seen & general discussions
I saw him more at ENB where he did the pirate/matador style roles and more recently the Akram Giselle when again he was not the Lead. I found his Romeo with Frankie a tad lacking in real emotion, compared to her with Bracewell. Mayara’s recent R&J with Calvin will take some beating as well. All these brilliant new principals at the RB is so wonderful, we are so spoilt for choice.- 1,276 replies

Bridiem is right, they have been rehearsing for weeks and tomorrow is a continuation of those. With a play they have numerous previews but there is always a “first night” which is recognised as such.- 1,276 replies

Royal Ballet's Swan Lake (Spring 2022)

I have always seen Mr Corrales as a more Corsair type pirate or a Quixote matador than a "white tight" romantic lead, but we shall see.- 1,276 replies

I like the sound of that. Having been blown away by her Juliet I have great hopes for her Odette/Odile.- 1,276 replies

Just read a review on Instagram that Alexander was a late replacement for Frankie and Cesar. No reason was given for their no show, hope they are O.K. -

The Dante Project - Stream - delayed until December
SPD444 replied to SPD444's topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
Having started this topic back in October, it seems the whole delay is my fault. Here is the first sentence of the email I received today from the ROH, this is a direct copy and paste:- "In October we contacted you to let you know that we had postponed our stream of The Dante Project because you had pre-ordered it." Please accept my apologies for pre-ordering it, I should have waited. There is no excuse. -

THE ROYAL BALLET 2021/22 SEASON ANNOUNCEMENT
SPD444 replied to a topic in Ballet / Dance news & information
I read somewhere that it is Marcelino with Frankie. -
Will we have to wait until September for it to be back to normal. I have been chasing my tail looking at the ticket situation regarding the Royal Ballet School performances and whilst we are currently in social distancing in theatres surely come June 21st all that will go away so theatre's can sell all seats. The matinee performance is on the 10th July so why can't they sell all the seats after June 21st.
