alison Posted September 16, 2022 Posted September 16, 2022 Thank you, Yumiko - do you have any idea how long it will be available? It might be worth putting it in the Calendar. 50 years is an incredible achievement, too.
Emeralds Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 (edited) It would be great if some of her lovely designs for A Folk Tale (which I like more than the ones in the current production) could be shown at the performance! Even if it’s just the costumes being worn for a pas de deux. I haven’t seen it yet but will try to find it online Her Majesty Queen Margrethe is a fan of ballet and an accomplished painter and artist- hope the programme did her justice. Interesting choice of programming- is she a fan of Jerome Robbins’ work or the ballet The Concert? Edited September 17, 2022 by Emeralds 1

In the past, Royal Danish Ballet dancers’ documentary series (televised in 2020) was available a month or longer.

The costumes for the programme The Kompagnie B performed which I could not catch the title was designed by the Queen. She often attends the performance at both The Royal Theatre and Tivoli Park. 1
yumiko Posted September 17, 2022 Author Posted September 17, 2022 Hello Moderator team. Could yo correct the spell of the Queen’s name in the title and if possible, in my first posting, please? Too late for me to edit. Thank you.
alison Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Done I thought it wasn't right, but only viewed the thread quickly in passing. 1
Shirley Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 'Part1' and 'Part2' are linked for me when hovering over them. 1
Bluebird Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 (edited) The link is in Yumi’s post. Just click on ‘part 1’ Edit: simultaneous posting! NB I found that ‘part 2’ led to the stream for part 1 but there’s a link to part 2 on the part 1 stream Edited September 17, 2022 by Bluebird 1
FionaM Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Thank you … I hadn’t realised the underlined words were links

Emeralds Posted September 17, 2022 Posted September 17, 2022 Hmm....needs a bit of Bournonville. Am having trouble getting to Part 2. Can’t get the link to come up on Part 1 and the underlined words for Part 2 just gets Part 1 again.
yumiko Posted September 18, 2022 Author Posted September 18, 2022 Sorry, I did not paste one of the links properly. I will paste both below. Gala part 1 Gala Part 2 Hope they work. 3 1

Jane S Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 Yes, thank you, Yumiko - I've only managed to watch this on a tablet - PC would give me sound but only still pictures - but even on the small screen I really liked Caroline Baldwin's Giselle. Rather touching that Queen Margrethe should ask for her own gala to start with a minute's silence for our Queen. 3

I believe you have been following RDB. Have you seen documentary series? The first one picks up 4 or maybe 5 dancers. The second one follows the artistic director Mr Nikolaj Hübbe. Most of the dialogues are in Danish, occasionally in English. I thought they were not available to view by now, but we can still watch them. 7 episodes, 30 minutes per episode televised in August/September 2017. In the front row - 7 episodes 4 episodes,30 minutes per episode, televised in September 2020. The link below should show all episodes in one page. 4 episodes link - Hübbe has the Power 1
Jane S Posted September 18, 2022 Posted September 18, 2022 I remember The Front Row - interesting to look at now, when we know which of them made it - but hadn't heard of the Hubbe series before. Just watched the first episode! 1
