Jan McNulty
Is anyone else hooked on the daily Wordle game? I saw the lady who thought it up being interviewed on Breakfast last week so I looked it up. It's certainly giving my brain cells a bit of exercise! CCL
This just reminded me that it’s Wordle time! I am hooked too and have a little competition with my daughter each day to see who did best.

bridiem
I've just got hooked too, but I get quite panicky if I can't see the solution... I realise I'm thinking too much of nouns and not enough of verbs, so need to re-set...
Jan McNulty
How do you all go about it? I start with the same word every day that's got a couple of vowels and a couple of common letters.

I don't think I use the same word every day (though couldn't swear to it!) - my niece's husband showed us the game and said that it's a good idea to start with as many vowels as possible because they're the most useful ones to identify or exclude, so I just make sure there are plenty of vowels. But that's where my strategy starts and ends!

Quintus
Absurdle is a good variant in the same format - it lasts longer as instead of having one answer from the beginning, it keeps a number of options open as you make guesses, so you have to pin it down.
