Workhard_Dreambig
Hello, Does anyone know if you drop and run for the EYB casting day and photo shoot, or do parent's stay given it is the first session with EYB? Thanks
Anna C
Hello SJBallet, if you use the search function and search for the phrase “EYB casting” there have been a few topics about what happens on casting day. Hopefully one of these might help if nobody comes along in the meantime: https://www.balletcoforum.com/topic/15573-eyb-casting-day-question/?tab=comments#comment-214808 https://www.balletcoforum.com/topic/10201-eyb-casting/?tab=comments#comment-136926 https://www.balletcoforum.com/topic/9160-eyb-casting/?tab=comments#comment-122439
Workhard_Dreambig
Thank you, I'm not great at the search function, but will have a practise. These links are really helpful
Catlynn
When we did it, it was drop and go or there may be a place on site where you can stay if you have traveled far. Basically, parents don't get to watch. Hope this helps 🙂
MAK
There will be a meeting for all parents and children at the beginning then parents leave but the finish time is dependent on how far from the venue you live. Those furthest away have their press photos taken earliest so they can get away.
Jeteitallaway
Usually drop and go
Pups_mum
With EYB you get to watch the audition as obviously you already know, then that is it in terms of parental viewing until the last rehearsal day in the school. Then you get to watch a full run through of the performance without costumes - the change from the audition is usually quite amazing. There is always a space made available for parents in the school being used for rehearsals so you do have somewhere to sit if you are not local, but you are not allowed to watch anything. Personally I usually went out to find something to do during rehearsals, even if it was just mooch around the shops - they are long days otherwise.
Workhard_Dreambig
Thank you all. We are local so will likely go home in between as they are such a long time, so not too much hanging about for us thankfully. DD is very excited to start.
