  1. Main cast for my DD. I'm thrilled. She texted 'cool'
  2. Ah I see! My girls have spent time in Covent Garden and around central London, staying with friends who regularly commute. Make sure that your DD knows to stay with a group when she's out and she will be fine. Hope she has a wonderful time
  3. Are you sure it's Covent Garden she is doing? My DD is 14 and attending White Lodge which is in Richmond.
  4. Ah ok. I was hoping to hear soon but as JA's don't seem to have heard yet, I think we might have to wait a while. Changing schools can be such a liberating things to do. I'm so glad your DD is happier. That's the Most important thing x
  5. Were there 'actual;' ENBS girls there? I didn't see anyone I recognised. Your DD was taken through to the casting audition because she did well already. She was also put in group A which I believe was the top group. Stay positive
  6. Custardtart, they've already seen their ballet I guess. Was your DD in C or D because my DD (in A) didn't do any. Perhaps they are going to be doing a varied programme including Jazz and tap. I'm sure they'll still do plenty of ballet during the rehearsal but I suppose it would be worth asking if your DD would be in a ballet part when her casting arrives?
  7. I will pm you mpuig. I know of someone who may be able to help
  8. Ooh that's good DD has been at Tring for a few weeks as she'd never done jazz before!
  9. No final casting day may mean that a child isn't cast or indeed is cast in a part they don't feel is the right one for them.. There may be movement if a child has both options
  10. I've just been looking at this because older DD has NYB casting this Sunday and younger DD has a place on Tring dance course. The rehearsals in Crawley are 25th-27th so I assume I'd have to stay there? Anyone wanting to do NYB would have to give up a place at Tring if they had one as far as I can see
  11. We have tickets for Alvin Ailey in September at Birmingham Hippodrome. Have decided that DD will go to NYB audition and see what happens. Still have the opportunity to do Alvin Ailey but I can't quite justify spending that much money
  12. Oh fantastic dsallaboutballet. My dd would much rather be dancing in the US. Are you coming over to stay or is he coming over on his own?
  13. I think the excitement caused me a brain freeze.....Is there anyone else on her with a dd or ds doing the two weeks?
  14. Thank you Pas de chat. She really needed a boost. Something to work towards
  15. Thank you It will be very strange to be back there! Good job we left on good terms Is anyone else we on here have a dd or ds doing the two weeks?
  16. Thanks Amos, I had no expectations whatsoever this year so it came as a complete shock. I had to get my son to read the email to me in case I was hallucinating!
  17. Very apt..they've let her do all their other courses and offered her MA's every year (even though she wasn't allowed to do it) so I knew they liked her a bit... and yes....perfect timing. She should be fully recovered Thank you
  18. Thank you Pictures I almost put that on my reply to them
  19. Hi vmmom, was just going to message you to say we will finally get to meet. Yes she is 14 (my brain isn't working) Absolutely thrilled for her. She's had a very tough year
  20. Well...miracles do happen! My younger DD has just been offered 2 weeks of WL Summer school after having waiting list 4 times
  21. Yes you're right about the ex-Hammond student. It does look like an exciting company to work for !
  22. Sorry kiwi mum, I have only just seen this. Been busy with rehab classes for youngest. Thank you for your lovely comment My thoughts were more to do with WL experience to be honest although the culture there seems to have changed vastly in just a couple of years. I'm positive that DD will be happily occupied now although currently waiting to hear whether she can take up a place on the Alvin Ailey Summer Intensive

  24. She's not afraid of competition, just not used to being in different environments I guess. She'll be fine I'm sure x
